The NFL safety Jonathan Owen and unmatched gymnastics talent Simone Biles set out on a journey that began with an unexpected connection and developed into a love story. Their paths crossed at a Houston Texans game more than three years ago, and later a dating app ignited an unanticipated romance. In April 2023, the couple exchanged vows in a stunning ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and a court wedding in Texas.

Owens, a starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, recently discussed the unusual beginnings of his relationship with Simone on the episode of “The Pivot Podcast.” However, some unfiltered replies divided the internet over the couple’s relationship equation which Biles defended once again.

Simone Biles backs up her man yet again

The drama started after Jonathan shared the story of the two meeting and said that when they met on the dating app Raya, Owens was first unaware of Biles’ gymnastic skills. He also stated not having access to NBC during the Olympics when Biles won gold, which aroused both interest and outrage. What could’ve stopped her fans from digging into the matter? He was immediately called a ‘liar’ by many. And now, Biles penned a message on Threads: “Y’all want me to be insecure so bad,” which is gaining much attention.

With her proactive approach, the gymnastics champion hoped to stem the growing wave of anger regarding her husband’s comments. Both athletes maintained sharing glimpses of their holiday celebrations despite backlash after Owens’ provocative remarks, but chose not to let it ruin their joyous Christmas day. In their matching plaid co-ord sets, the couple perfectly captured the festive mood in a warm embrace.

Yet the recent controversy on “The Pivot Podcast” kept looming over their festivities. Biles responded to the outcry of criticism on social media following the NFL safety’s statement that “men are the catch” in relationships. All the while, the anger compelled the host of the show to add few words himself to defend Owens.

The much needed support

The ardent supporters of Biles were quite critical, however, former NFL safety Ryan Clark, host of “The Pivot Podcast,” came forth amid the ongoing debate to defend the couple’s unusual path and offer context. Clark said, “Everyone is twisting it and made it something negative. What people haven’t done is watched the entire show.”
