Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens made an exciting appearance on ‘The Pivot Podcast’. In the episode, Jonathan Owens opened up about his life in the NFL, being married to Simone Biles, and even having babies. However, a moment in the podcast stood out when host Fred Taylor questioned Jonathan Owens about how he manages his money. He asked, “Let them know, look, I’m still grinding. You know, just because I’m in the NFL, that doesn’t mean I got $5 million here or $2 million laid away. How are you able to navigate that with your people?”
Addressing the sensitive issue of money, Jonathan Owens shared that the people who made him stay grounded and taught him to say “No” were his mother and his wife.
Sharing a recent incident when Simone Biles drew a line with his spending, he reflected, saying, “Just the other day (Biles said), no, you’re not getting, they’re not getting, that for Christmas. I don’t care what you say.”
This moment highlighted Simone Biles’ caution with finances and also shed light on the life experiences that have shaped her into someone who remains careful and grounded despite her substantial earnings.

Why is Simone Biles cautious with money?
Just weeks ago, Simone Biles discussed with CNN her role in the nonprofit organization ‘Friends of the Children’. Being a foster child herself, Simone Biles was drawn to the idea that, through the mission, foster children are provided with a paid professional mentor and friend for over 12 years.
When asked why the mission was close to her heart, she shared, “I actually was a foster kid. So I know some of those hardships that those kids go through.” Speaking of her hardships, Biles opened up, sharing, “I just remember us as kids, being so hungry, and then I just remember this cat that would get fed, and not like quite us.”
However, Simone Biles and her siblings got to stay in one foster home and made childhood memories together. Their situation got better in foster care and were eventually adopted by close relatives.
