Despite being considered a force to be reckoned with in the NCAA gymnastics circuit, the UCLA Bruins haven’t been on the top of their game this season. A series of losses has created quite the turmoil for the UCLA women’s gymnastics squad, adding to the financial burdens. However, the program has made it a point to ensure the athletes are given the respect they deserve in every possible way. And yet, it looks like one of their star player’s ambitions has grown bigger than what the Bruins can offer.
Margzetta Frazier has been one of the main driving forces behind the Bruins this season. But from the looks of things, the graduate student has decided to bid her adieu to her long-time teammates.

In a recent post on X (formerly known as Twitter) by the official UCLA Gymnastics account, the news of Frazier’s departure has been announced with a heavy heart. “We kept her as long as we could“, notes the post, evidently having a hard time swallowing the hard pill. “…this Saturday @MargzettaF says her final goodbye to Pauley“, elaborates the post further, with a sad-looking emoji that can make the NCAA fans’ hearts ache.
We kept her as long as we could, but this Saturday @MargzettaF says her final goodbye to Pauley 🥺. One of the most consistent gymnasts in school history, Margzetta is a 4-time All-American and All-Pac-12 honoree and the 2021 Pac-12 bars champion. #ThankYouSeniors 💙💛 pic.twitter.com/RPPLK8acfS

The post went on to mention the numerous accolades that Margzetta has achieved during her time with the Pac-12 heavyweights. “Margzetta is a 4-time All-American and All-Pac-12 honoree“, highlights the X post, along with also denoting her championship title win on the bars at the 2021 Pac-12 tournament. And unsurprisingly, Frazier’s performances have been impeccable on the bars this season as well.
A dedicated team player: Margzetta Frazier
While victories have been far and wide for the UCLA Bruins, Margzetta has done her best to keep her team in the game for as long as possible. In the Bruins’ win over Washington in January, Frazier recorded an impressive 9.825 on the bars, hinting at a sensational regular season, and the speculations haven’t gone amiss. In early February, Frazier sent out a ripple across the NCAA gymnastics community after achieving a spectacular season-high score of 9.900 on the bars as the Bruins triumphed over Oregon.
