With a 7-6-1 overall record, the Arkansas Razorbacks are having a pretty neat season so far. With the SEC and NCAA gymnastics championships only weeks away, they are looking to end their regular season with a blast after being handed a resounding defeat by Oklahoma (198.350-197.275). The Razorbacks now face the Nebraska Huskers later today, and some seniors are already looking forward to their lives beyond the Arkansas campus.

The country’s NCAA gymnastics scene is among those things that contribute to national success on international stages. Understandably, collegiate gymnasts are highly revered among fans. However, many of these stars view college as their stepping stone to a bigger life ahead and Arkansas’ Emma Kelley isn’t very different.

The Bud Walton Arena will host the Huskers on March 15 as the Razorbacks celebrate their senior gymnasts. Ahead of the big day, two senior NCAA gymnastics stars of Arkansas, Emma Kelley and Jensen Scalzo met up for the latest episode of Razorbacks Rundown to talk about what the former’s plans look like after graduating from college. The brief conversation has been shared by an Instagram post made by the official Razorbacks Gymnastics account with the caption, “One of our favorite duos is on Razorback Rundown today!

After doing a quick recap of the events from last Sunday’s match against the reigning champs Oklahoma Sooners, Scalzo turns to her long-time colleague to ask her about what the Razorbacks taught Emma over four years. “…I have done a lot of self growth since my freshman year and learned a lot about who I am“. Emma confessed: “It has been an amazing journey“.

When Scalzo asks her teammate what message she can have for her freshman self, Kelley noted that her younger version should know that gymnastics is just a small part of her time as an NCAA gymnastics star and that education is at the center of it all. Kelley mentioned that after graduating with a degree in hospitality services this year, she’s likely to find a job in the sector. And, with a cryptic message, she also hinted that her personal life also see some major changes in the coming months.

Arkansas seniors execute their responsibilities deftly

While Scalzo went on the bars in almost every match this season, constantly dishing out impressive performances of 9.000 and above, Kelley has seen much lesser action in 2024. Thanks to her impressive scores, the Razorbacks have managed to subdue several NCAA gymnastics heavyweights including Auburn, Washington, and Missouri. The SEC Championships will kick off next Saturday. With that in mind, the match against Nebraska will justifiably be the last opportunity to bid goodbye to the seniors in style and the Razorbacks are looking to make the most of it.
