25-year-old Simone Biles started learning gymnastics at the age of 6. All this time, her mother was her biggest supporter through the journey. Due to her quick learning capability and flexibility, she learned all the skills fast. However, once remembering her earlier days of practice, Biles reveals one of her worst days with her coach.
Practicing gymnastics takes lots of rigorous hours to nourish the skills. On top of it, being a four-time gold medalist gymnast needs many sacrifices and efforts. Overcoming everything, Simone has created a legacy in gymnastics after securing the highest number of World Championship medals in history.

In her Book, ‘Courage to Soar: A Body in Motion, a Life in Balance,‘ Simone Biles walks down the memory lane of her hardest day with her coach. The Book has a chapter called ‘Redemption,’ where Biles states about the situation. She talked about how her coach made her do routines more than seven times. Simone also mentioned that she went to the bathroom, and everyone could hear her cry.
Unfortunately, she was having a bad day, but her coach Aimee pushed her to the limits. The Olympic gold medalist wrote, “That was one of the worst days Aimee and I ever had. And she didn’t even call my parents, as she sometimes did when I was being uncooperative. Oh, and let me tell you, 1 hated it when she called in my parents. It usually meant a lecture from my dad about me not appreciating my opportunities, and sometimes my mom would threaten to pull me out of gymnastics altogether.”
Somehow, Simone feels grateful to her coach countless times, saving her from Nellie Biles’s disappointment. She has mentioned how grateful she feels for Aimee for pushing her and making her the GOAT she is today.

Aimee Boorman’s contribution to Biles’ career
Simone’s first coach, Aimee Boorman, trained her for several years at the World Champions Center in Spring, Texas. One of the facts is that the center was owned by Simone’s parents Ronald and Nellie Biles. Her brother Adam Biles was also the manager. It was probably due to the strict nature of Boorman that the gymnast won the titles of the all-around championship and seven medals in the Olympics.
Boorman had to withdraw her position as Simone’s coach for personal reasons. They announced it during the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016. The legendary gymnast confirmed the news and said Boorman has shifted to Florida for her family.
