After an Olympic campaign filled with a roller coaster of emotions, Jordan Chiles‘ comeback to the NCAA scene was highly anticipated. Many viewed the gymnast as the key player for the UCLA Bruins, with high expectations for her. However, the season opener for the team didn’t go as planned. But they managed to immediately make a good recovery right after that defeat.

Recently, the Bruins faced Maryland, and they achieved a victory that just blew everyone’s minds off. Why so? Chiles achieved a perfect 10 on the bars and surprised everyone in the crowd. At times, her parents, particularly her mother Gina Chiles, are present in the audience, cheering for her. This time, Gina would’ve been prouder as Jordan performed a perfect 10 on the bars. Indeed, all eyes were on the Bruins after their much-hyped gymnastics battle in Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad, where they secured a win against the other three teams with a score of 197.550. However, many wanted to see what Jordan could do this time on the mat. And without any pressure, the Olympian just impressed the crowd and the judges with her moves. 

While it was a sight to behold, right after Jordan’s performance, her mother, Gina, who was present in the audience, took pictures with many fans of the gymnast. Indeed, these young fans were present at the XFINITY Center to watch Jordan’s performance, and she did not disappoint any of them, even scoring a perfect 10 on bars. Taking to Instagram, one fan shared their daughter’s picture with Gina, stating, “Talyah had the pleasure of meeting the parents of the one and only Jordan Chiles! Thank you for being so kind. It was great meeting you.”

Similarly, a group of young fans who watched Jordan perform sent out a heartfelt message, stating, “DCG girls with the mom of the one and only Jordan Chiles!! Thank you for being so nice to our girls. It was great meeting you.” And what about Gina? Did she cherish the moment? Absolutely! She was delighted with how these young fans came to see her daughter. They represent the future of the sport. And some may have drawn inspiration from the gymnast’s performance on the mat against Maryland. For now, Jordan’s campaign is going well, and she’s on the right path to achieving her goals, about which she shared her thoughts way before.

Jordan Chiles had a mixed Olympic season. People have witnessed her transition from the excitement surrounding her career-first individual Olympic bronze medal to the disappointment of losing it due to a decision by FIG and CAS. Despite all the heartbreaks, she remained committed to the sport and focused on achieving more success in her stellar career. Sharing her determination, she once revealed, stating, “I want to come back with something that people are going to enjoy. Artistic gymnastics is very well known for just the gymnastics part. And I wanted to be able to bring the art back into the sport.” 

Chiles loves gymnastics, and she wants to contribute to and grow the sport more. However, she aims to restore some missing elements, demonstrating the gymnast’s leadership skills. Indeed, many are fascinated by Chiles’ ability to exert pressure on opponents on the mat and maintain optimism and motivation within the team through her words and performances. The NCAA season is long. But it is the perfect stage for the Olympian to prove herself as the best on the mat.
