The iconic Simone Biles is an ardent follower of baseball. She attends many games and has also thrown the first pitch in many instances. In the recent game between the Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Angels, Biles took the mic and announced ‘play ball.’
Residing in Houston, Biles attends many sports events in her hometown. Having been engaged to her boyfriend Jonathan Owens, the duo is regularly seen at different venues, showing their support for the home team. In fact, once, when was on the field to throw the first pitch, she performed her customary flips and jumps while at it.

Play-ball by Simone Biles
Significantly, it was the opening day for the Houston Astros’ MLB season. Biles kicked off the proceedings in grand fashion. On her Instagram story, she shared pictures of the famous Minute Maid Park. Notably, she also posted a video of her opening the game announcing ‘play ball’. Back before the game, she spoke about supporting her team and loving the fact that sports are back.

“Yes, it’s super exciting, especially to come out and represent another Houston team. They have my back so obviously I’m gonna come out here and have their back and support them. It’s an exciting moment in sports that we get to experience this again,” said Biles.
It became a super cool moment for Biles who loved to announce the call. Along with Jonathan Owens, she has attended NBA games of the Houston Rockets and supported her boyfriend Jonathan Owens’s NFL team, Houston Texans. It was brilliant to see the world-class gymnast showing up to kick-start the season opener.

The sensational gymnast has attempted many opening pitches. She has thrown three opening pitches in recent years with the first one coming in 2016. In a stadium filled with thousands of fans, Biles always spoke about being scared during the opening pitches.

“I was so nervous. Much more nervous than I’d be for gymnastics,” said Biles.

Truly, she is back with a bang with her first play-ball call. Currently, Simone has taken a break from gymnastics and focused on her wedding dates. The Houston native is enjoying her time attending different competitions while supporting her hometown teams.
