The Week 18 football game of the Chicago Bears versus the Green Bay Packers was in favor of the Bears, who ended up taking the win by 24-22. The highlight moment was, however, not the victory but their defender, Jonathan Owens, who failed to attempt a stunt in the post-first quarter round.

The stunt, however, grew quite a bit of attention on social media, which led Jonathan to get several comments from fans, which included Fox Sports NFL making a joke statement about him. Accepting the situation, the footballer himself went on to claim it as a missed attempt that failed to be performed by him.

Jonathan Owens’s failed attempt was a missed slip

With the video going viral, Fox Sports took center stage in making a humorous comment about Jonathan Owens’s stunt. “Jonathan Owens, who’s married to one of the great leaders of all time in @Simone_Biles. Who had to be shaking her head when she saw that? Jonathan Owens might need to take some leaping advice from his wife.

Reverting back to the comments, the NFL defender goes on to give a humorous reply from his end. Stating on the actual reality from his end, he went on to clear the set narrative against him by saying, “Aye man, it was slick.” As per the footballer, it was a missed slip that led him into such a failed situation, a clip of which is currently gaining views all over social media.

Trying his hand at performing a Lambeau leap at the end zone of the field, Jonathan was trying to leap into the stands to record a touchdown. But to his disappointment, he couldn’t make it to the stands as he fell short while leaping. He eventually slipped, laying down on the ground.

As the clip went viral, fans quickly took to social media, suggesting that Simone Biles could teach Jonathan how to land properly. One fan joked, “Help him Simone 😂,” while the NFL posted the video with a caption implying Simone might have a few tips for her husband. Given Jonathan’s enthusiasm for learning from Simone, having even taken notes during her Paris Olympics, it’s clear fans believe she could help him perfect his leap. With that being said, the footballer is currently in need of advice with some basic leaping lessons to learn from his gymnastics wife, Simone Biles, who hasn’t made any comments on the matter.

Jonathan is coming off a clumsy season

The Chicago Bears have finally cut the string on ending their 10-game losing streak after defeating the Green Bay Packers by 24-22. Finishing the regular season with such a win, the performance by the Bears athletes in the Week 18 match included Jonathan Owens making his first-ever return against Green Bay since his last appearance in 2023, with 11 games played coming into notice now.

Alongside Tremaine Edmunds, Jonathan turned over things for the Chicago Bears as one of the best defensemen of the match at 74.2. Going against the Packers’ receiver Jayden Reed in the final seconds of the opening quarter, he knocked the ball free with a punch, fumbling it on the ground, which he then recovered and returned 13 yards towards the 21-yard line.

As part of the Chicago Bears now, the defender is coming off with 17 games played this season while carrying a high profile as a star gymnast husband. Jonathan Owens’s stats of this season with a total of 43 points, 25 solos, and 18 assists on tackles made are indeed promising, resulting in the team’s recent win.

While his stats remain in prominence, what he showcased at the end zone was indeed a hilarious one coming from the match. Both the athletes come concerning their different genres of sports; the difference, however, lies in terms of execution, as seen from Jonathan this time.
