Simone Biles is a champion in every sense of the word. From her career to her personal life, she seems to have hit the jackpot. She is currently engaged to the Houston Texans safety, Jonathan Owens, a topic of envy for many. But even before that, Biles? life has been full of love.

Biles was adopted by her parents Ronald and Nellie Biles when she was 6 and they have been the most caring and supportive presence in her life.

Simone Biles?has said before that her parents saved her by taking her and her sister in when she was small. Biles? birth mother, Shannon, could not provide for her kids. So, Ron, who is biologically Simone’s maternal grandfather, stepped in and adopted Simone and her little sister Adria.

But this incident isn?t the only testament to their inspirational ideals. Though now retired, even Ron and Nellie?s jobs were in service of others. They?met?when Nellie was in college in San Antonio, and Ron was working for the Air Force.

At the time, Ron was also raising his daughter Shannon as a single father. After graduating, Nellie became a nurse and co-owned a chain of Texas nursing homes. Shannon eventually moved to Cleveland to live with her mother.

Together, the Biles couple had two sons, Ron Jr. and Adam. So by the time Simone and her sister entered their life, Nellie hadn?t been expecting to start over as a mother in her 50s. But she bonded with the girls so strongly that there was no doubt she was Simone?s mother.

The Biles couple got a call from a social worker in Ohio in 2000 when Simone Biles was only 3. Since her birth mother could not care for her kids, the social worker reached out to Simone?s known relatives for help.

In the beginning, Biles and her sister referred to the couple as ?Grandma? and ?Grandpa?. But after a talk with Nellie, that changed. Biles told Texas Monthly?how the talk went.??She said, ?It?s up to you guys. If you want to, you can call us Mom and Dad.??

Biles added,??I went upstairs and tried practicing it in the mirror??Mom, Dad, Mom, Dad.? Then I went downstairs, and she was in the kitchen. I looked up at her and I was like, ?Mom?? She said, ?Yes!? ?
