The US women gymnasts are best known for their noble deeds in the gymnastics arena and beyond. Several gymnasts have surfaced over the years who have utilized their energy, earnings, and talent to bring about a change. But the collegiate gymnasts are recently making headlines for their adroit moves. There’s Leanne Wong with her ‘Bowtique’ for the betterment of the community and even Jordan Chiles with her act of kindness for cancer patients. But there’s another name that rose simultaneously.
The 22-year-old artistic gymnastics athlete who had once dominated the US national team focuses on college now. She signed up with the Florida Gators for the 2021-2025 session and is an active part of the NCAA season. But what the world doesn’t know is her fondness for children and how much her heart cries for them.
Gymnastics legend made headlines for a noble move

Having a special place for kids, Riley McCusker partnered with SWAG as she stepped in as a mentor to guide the youth, too. Her Instagram story reads, “Had an incredible time mentoring youth served by the SWAG Family Resource Center! The programs for families are made possible thanks to community donations!” SWAG caters to the needs of the community by linking families and individuals to resources and services. These resources and services come from partnerships with community partners or even firms that wish to help.
Some of SWAG’s services are free internet access, medical services, weekly community dinners, and homework assistance for elementary students. But the 22-year-old looked like she helped the students out with their school projects or something similar. For the Florida gymnast, though her debut season was prickly, she flew high in sophomore.

McCusker shed light on transitioning
Executing banging gymnastics performances one after the other, 2023 has been nothing short of amazing for the 22-year-old. Specialized in the bars, she hit the 9.900 mark or even surpassed it straight seven times. Even in the NCAA finals, she proved herself as a flawless performer. But she struggled to figure out what went on inside.

Said, “I think for any athlete going through a transition, whether it be from elite to college or college to the pros or transitioning into retirement from your sport, there’s going to be a certain period of uncertainty. It’s just like how you feel, how you fit in”. Having gone through an ankle reconstructive surgery wasn’t easy for McCusker to cope with. But she kept weaving her magic, anyway.
