With Japan as its rival, it seems like the US team needs to buckle up for the event. They need an almost impossible score of 46.734 to surpass Japan in the final rotation. An Olympic page posted the statistics on Twitter stating, “Team USA would need an impossible 46.734 to pass Japan in the final rotation, but a more do-able 42.699 for second.”
This event did not go like the others as Young missed a layout Tkatchev and then Asher Hong went the wrong way on a full Takamoto and this was not just done once, but twice. Now the entire consequence depends upon Paul Juda and Fred Richard to compensate the scores for high bars.
