Can you believe we’re just a few days away from wrapping up 2024? Time flies! And what a year it’s been for Simone Biles—making history with three gold medals at the Paris Olympics! But now we’re all wondering, what’s next? 2025 is right around the corner, and with a new year comes new opportunities. The big question is whether Simone will be back in action. She hasn’t made an official announcement yet, and there’s still no word on whether she will compete in LA 2028. No matter what Simone’s future holds, she hasn’t finished her journey yet after announcing her 2025 vision!

In a recent interview with E! News, Biles talked about her goals for the year 2025.  When asked what she expected most in the following year she said, “Besides relaxing and going on a couple of vacations with my husband, I’m really just trying to be involved in the community as much as I can, as well as giving back.”

After such an intensive year, it’s obvious that Simone Biles is ready to rest. In 2024, she started with the US Classics; trials; Olympics; and Gold Over America tour and performed, smiled, and cheered for her husband during his NFL games—all while training as a gymnast. Now and again, it appears as though she is tired and needs a break. And this time she is right.

In 2025, Simone Biles has one event planned to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia. From October, 19th to October, 25th of 2025. It will be the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championship. Though this is a rather late event in the year, it affords Simone ample time to practice.  Even now, she has been concentrating on philanthropy, including a $50,000 check to the Friends of the Children Foundation. Indeed, participation in the community seems to be one of her key strategic development objectives for the year 2025 together with family leisure.

As Biles said, “Honestly, since my husband and I got married, we’ve been doing long-distance. After the Olympics and my tour, I would say the highlight has been spending quality time with him for the first time in the longest time since we’ve been married. Just cherishing those times, moving into our house in Chicago, and making it our home.” So, as Simone winds down and looks toward 2025, the big question remains: Will she be back for LA 2028?

What’s next for Simone? The 2028 Olympics?

Simone Biles is the greatest gymnast of all time with 11 Olympic medals, 30 world championship medals, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. But two months back, she was honored for something which had no relation to gymnastics. At the 30th anniversary gala for Friends of the Children in Santa Monica, Simone was bestowed with a “champion for children” award. This year, she has been with the organization for five years; they gave her a gold and sapphire necklace in return for supporting kids in foster care and hard times. She said that being an honouree was something she “couldn’t be more proud of.”

The attachment of this cause to Simone is not just professional but also very much personal. Growing up in a foster care home herself, she knows how much it means to have someone who cares for you as a child. She said, “I’ve always been passionate about foster care because I know exactly what these kids have gone through.”She is using both her social influence and public speaking to help similar kids with Friends of the Children which is a non-profit organization that helps children from kindergarten to high school.

As for the future, Simone’s been pretty open about it—though still a little mysterious. When asked about the 2028 LA Olympics, she teased, “Never say never. The next Olympics is at home, so you never know.” At the same time, she’s quick to joke about getting older, saying, “27 is a little bit old for a gymnast.” If she’s been around longer than most other gymnasts performing at her level, she still has that fire that burns. Whether or not she competes in LA, though, one thing’s for sure: Simone Biles has accomplished enough to become a legend now!
