Jordan Chiles brings the energy on and off the mat at UCLA! Well, the countdown is on for UCLA gymnastics to start their NCAA season from April 2-6, 2025, and fans are dreaming big like national-championship-level big. It’s been a while since the Bruins took the top spot (2018, to be exact), but with Jordan Chiles back as a senior in the mix fresh off her Paris Olympics gold medal, the hype is real. She’s been teasing her return to collegiate gymnastics, sharing sneak peeks of her training, and getting everyone pumped. But Chiles isn’t just about tumbling passes and team golds, she’s soaking up every ounce of college life, and it’s giving us all the feels.

Jordan Chiles lit up Instagram on 30th November with her behind-the-scenes glimpses from the Rose Bowl. She re-shared a story on Instagram from UCLA Athletics, including a moment where she was all smiles, in the middle of the football playground, where the host was praising her and Chiles was waving to the crowd, throwing up a heart-shaped pose that had fans cheering. In another story, kids stared at her in pure awe, like they’d just spotted a real-life superhero (indeed she is), while the background hum of cheers added to the electric atmosphere.

UCLA battled hard to clinch a 20-13 victory over Fresno State. The offense struggled early, scoring just six points in the first half, but the Bruins brought the heat late in the game. A clutch 2-yard touchdown pass from Ethan Garbers to J. Michael Sturdivant sealed the deal, with linebacker Carson Schwesinger locking things down on defense with 15 tackles. It wasn’t the perfect season (they finished 5-7), but it ended on a high note. And with Jordan Chiles bringing her electric energy to the stands and soon back to the gym, UCLA’s future is shining bright even after the Olympic Bronze medal controversy!

Jordan Chiles takes legal action to reclaim her bronze

After helping Team USA snag gold at the Paris Olympics, Jordan Chiles was so close to making the individual all-around final—she missed out by just 0.067 points. But that wasn’t the end of her journey. In the floor final, she earned a bronze after her coach, Cecile Landi, noticed a mistake in her difficulty score. The judges fixed it, bumping her score up and locking in her third-place finish. But then, things took a wild turn.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport made a ruling that reversed her score, and the International Gymnastics Federation gave the bronze to Romania’s Ana Barbosu instead. But, Chiles is staying positive, focusing on what’s next. At the Teen Vogue Summit in November, she shared that the biggest thing for her right now is knowing her name is already a brand, and she’s all about continuing to build on that.

And speaking of exciting things, Jordan has something huge coming up—her memoir! On November 26, she announced that she’ll be releasing I’m That Girl, which drops on March 4, 2025. The book is going to be real and raw as she dives into everything: the Paris medal controversy, the eating struggles she’s battled since childhood, and the racism she’s faced throughout her gymnastics journey. But here’s the kicker—Jordan’s not done fighting for her bronze medal. She’s still pushing to get it back! USA Gymnastics is backing her up, having filed an appeal with the Swiss Supreme Court back in September. So, what’s next? We’ll have to wait and see, but one thing’s for sure: Jordan Chiles isn’t backing down.
