Stephen Nedoroscik may not be a dancer but he is willing to stand up to any challenge. And that’s exactly what’s coming up soon: A challenge. You see, DWTS was on a two-week hiatus but will return on November 12. It is a special event because it is the show’s 500th episode. As a result, fan-favorite stars from past seasons will return to the show, but for the current participants, a big twist waits ahead!
As per ABC’s press release, the next episode of the show will have two rounds: The first round will be a choreographed dance, like always. “In celebration of countless iconic performances from the past 32 seasons, each couple will pay tribute to past memorable dances while adding their own unique reinterpretation and flair for season 33,” the press release read. Nedoroscik and dance partner Rylee Arnold will perform a Viennese Waltz. It will be inspired by Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas’ performance in season 31, to ‘Glimpse of Us’ by Joji.
But round two will be an ‘Instant Dance Challenge’. They won’t know the dance style or the song until five minutes before performing it live.

Fans can vote during the live performances in the ET/CT time zones. Further, online voting will be available to all fans in the U.S., its territories, and Canada via dwtsvote.abc.com. Viewers on U.S. wireless carriers can also vote via SMS/text. Votes will be important for Nedoroscik and Arnold because they will be combined with the judges’ scores to establish which celebrity is in danger of getting eliminated.
However, Stephen Nedoroscik seems to be excited. In an Instagram reel with his dance partner, he requested his followers to vote for them. He wrote, “I think we should all collectively decide to vote for Stephen and Rylee tomorrow on Dancing With the Stars. They just work so hard and truly deserve it!”
When Reddit users got to know about the second round ‘Instant Dance Challenge’, they took to the platform to discuss it.
What’s your perspective on:
Can Stephen Nedoroscik's dance skills match his gymnastics prowess, or is he out of his depth?
Have an interesting take?
The challenge is unique, but let us not forget that Stephen Nedoroscik is a gymnast, not a dancer. Performing a choreographed dance routine is one thing, but with just five minutes available to prepare for round two, fans are naturally concerned.
DWTS challenge: The update has left several fans concerned
For the Nightmare Nightmare Night, Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold blew everyone’s socks off with an electrifying performance by hitting every beat with precision. Their performance received a solid score of 28, even grabbing their first 10 of the season. However, with week 8 quickly approaching, fans don’t know how to feel.
One fan exclaimed, “I see why they’d do it this way (everyone basically can redo large amounts of choreo that’s ‘in their system’, but this will basically be like how they handle dance offs…we’re just going to see the same choreo again?“
Well, the fan’s concerns are understandable. After all, the participants may gravitate towards moves and steps they have practiced hundreds of times. And that’s something we can watch out for during the upcoming episode. But hey, it is still challenging to get away with a live performance without practice.
Currently, the show has six remaining couples:
- Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten
- Dwight Howard and Daniella Karagach
- Danny Amendola and Witney Carson
- Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson
- Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold
- Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong
Last episode, Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber were eliminated.
- “This sounds sooo stressful 💀 bless their hearts.”
- “It really does. On top of having to recreate an iconic dance.”
Reddit users agreed that it was quite a stressful challenge. This is the last night before the semi-finals and grand finale. So, the pressure is definitely higher than ever. Given how far Nedoroscik and Arnold have come, the Len Goodman Mirror Ball Trophy is within their reach. All they have to do is survive this challenge.

- “That sounds horrible. I don’t really care to see dances they’ve already done personally.”
- “Oh so at least it’s not new dances.”
We also wonder how the logistics for their costumes will work for round two. One can only assume that participants could probably use one of their previous costumes. It will be interesting to see what happens on DWTS, don’t you think?
