The Gymnastics World Championships are probably one of the biggest events in the gymnastics realm. The platform provides teams a chance to mark their place and earn a ticket to the Paris 2024.
The Championships being held in Antwerp this year will see a battle between a total of 14 countries fighting to secure their place in the Olympics. However, to some of these teams, the showdown is of talent. Men’s teams from China, Japan, and Great Britain along with Women’s teams from the US, Canada, and Great Britain, have already made their way into the Paris 2024 and remain to compete to fill in the void.
Great Britain marches head forward eyeing the Gymnastic Worlds

On September 4th, Great Britain announced their team for the Gymnastics Championship to be held starting September 30 at Antwerp. While Jessica Gadirova, Alice Kinsella, Georgia-Mae Fenton, Ondine Achampong, and Ruby Evans will make up the women’s team, Max Whitlock, Jake Jarman, James Hall, Courtney Tulloch, and Harry Hepworth, will look to compete for the men’s.
The Worlds 2022, came as a strong base for the Great Britain Gymnasts. The women’s team achieved a new record by securing the silver medal, while Gadirova stepped in and secured herself an individual bronze. Coming to the men’s, the GB team has set forth to refuse a defeat as it adds the three-time world champion Max Whitlock to the list.
This will be the 30-year-old gymnast’s first major event since his last appearance at the Tokyo 2020. The young athlete has a glorious path ahead as he would make history by being the first gymnast ever to win four Olympic medals on the same piece of apparatus; upon being selected and winning a medal. “This one feels special. I?ve worked harder, become fitter and approached this build-up like never before.” Whitlock said according to the Olympics.

Showcasing their best-ever performance in the Worlds 2022 and being the only nation to qualify both men’s and women’s teams for Paris 2024, Britain still stands to walk past their staunch rivals, The States.

Great Britain undoubtedly gave an exhilarating performance at the Worlds last year. However, not slipping a toe off their mat, the US gymnast team managed to finish up as the top performer. The team with a mix of performers from various backgrounds earned a total of 166.564, bagging their 6th consecutive gold.
