Legendary gymnast Nastia Liukin has a soft spot in her heart for Paris. She admitted to being obsessed with the City of Light right from the time she was a little girl. With the next Olympics to be held on the banks of the Seine, she will enjoy that spectacle but from a different perch.
After winning five medals in gymnastics at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Nastia Liukin retired at the very young age of 22. When posed the question of which Olympic event she was most excited about, Liukin sang the praises of Paris 2024. After getting through that, she admitted she was truly more excited for the Los Angeles Games in 2028.

Nastia Liukin shared a story on Instagram. In it, there was an image of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. To that image, she added the words, “It has been THE biggest honor being (a tiny) part of this group and team of insanely talented, hardworking, and passionate individuals who have all worked so hard to bring the Olympic Games back to the US.”
The 34-year-old gymnast further added, “When LA was awarded the Games years ago, it seemed like we had ‘forever’ – but now we are finally getting close to having the greatest Games ever (!!!!!) back in LA – it sure has been a long time coming. @la28games.” Nastia Liukin also voiced her enthusiasm at the Olympics right around the corner in a location she prized.

Nastia Liukin excited for Paris 2024
Aside from being an entrepreneur with successful forays into the world of fashion, Nastia Liukin previewed the 2024 Olympics in an interview with NBC. There, she revealed that Paris 2024 would feature a unique blend of experience and youth in her sport. The seasoned veterans such as Simone Biles and Gabby Douglas continue to prove age a mere number, as Liukin revealed.

Nastia Liukin now calls the city of Parker, Texas, home. A naturalized Texan, she too celebrated when the Texas Rangers won their first World Series in franchise history. She was also seen celebrating when the Dallas Stars scored against the Arizona Coyotes on a sheet of ice. Clearly, she has kept busy away from gymnastics. Liukin will hope her compatriots make the whole country proud in Paris 2024. It remains to be seen in what capacity she ushers in that spectacle.
