The situation arose after Globo sports commentator Daiane unknowingly unfollowed Rebeca creating a questionable spark of controversy on the move.
Clearing the air following the situation, Daiane giving the blame to Instagram talks on how social media users hype scenarios like this invading privacy without knowing the facts. “Before you start these little things, these little arguments that people sometimes like to invent and argue about, I thought it would be better to come here and explain what’s going on. Nothing is going on. We get along really well, I admire each other a lot, and we’re still together. I’m following you back, and I think it’s Instagram’s fault.”
A credit to Daiane, Rebeca’s career as a gymnast carries inspiration and dedication from the former gymnast’s career representing Brazil. With her recent visit to the Youth Games and the now cleared rumor from the controversy, Rebeca recalls her past during a press conference speaking with a word of thanks in mention to Daiane on the inspiring journey achieved from her. “I understand how important it is to have a role model. Daiane dos Santos was a lot like that for me. I looked at her and thought: “Wow, I hope I can achieve that. I want to get to that place. Today, I am that figure for these young people.” Delivering an impressive feat at the Paris Olympics, Rebeca Andrade is now managing a role at a high position in his career.

Rebeca Andrade is now an ambassador of the 2024 Youth Games organized by the Brazilian Olympic Committee. Starting from November 13 the competition ends on the 28th with 4,208 athletes aged between 15-17 competing worldwide. For our gymnast, the special mention during the press conference came on the educational role focused by such competition. “I think sports teach us responsibility, resilience, teamwork and many other things. And the school also teaches us how to educate ourselves. Today, being able to represent all of this, together with them… Soon I will be able to meet them, chat, talk and see all that sparkle in their eyes, the joy of meeting someone you follow.”

Rebeca Andrade added another milestone to her illustrious career last month at the Brazilian Championship in João Pessoa, clinching a gold medal in the uneven bars category. Her performance not only reinforced her status as a top gymnast but also highlighted her role as an ambassador of excellence in the sport.
