Gymnastics is a very wide realm that attracts gymnasts globally. Right now, in this field, the Asian Games are making waves on the internet, and in it, Pranati Nayak is one of the most-heard names. She is an Indian artistic gymnast and has bagged multiple achievements to her name. She is the 2019 Asian Championships vault bronze medalist and is the third Indian gymnast to win an international medal in the vault. Nayak has also been the face of India at the 2020 Summer Olympics and with this, she is only the second Indian female gymnast to qualify for the Olympic Games.

She has performed in multiple World championships and is the 2019 Indian all-around champion. Having already secured numerous achievements, she has once again earned a commendable position at the Asian Games. She competed against one of the biggest rivals of America for the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She has just the right skills that an ideal gymnast must have and that is what has brought her where she is today.

Praniti Nayak with her bag full of achievements and gymnastic skills has made her way to the finals in the Asian Games. On the 25th of September 2023, she qualified for the finals in vault and all-around competitions at the Asian games that took place in Hangzhou. Considering her vaulting skills and passion for this realm, it was not at all doubtful that she would reach the finals.

According to Rediff, Nayak secured the sixth position among the top eight qualifiers in the women’s vault, earning a total of 12.716 points. With this, she also nabbed a position in the 18 competitors who will perform in the women’s all-around final which will take place on the 27th of September.

In the vault competition, Nayak tried doing a vault with 4.4 difficulty and attained a score of 12.866 in the first vault. Following this, she gave a try to the 40.2 difficulty and 8,366 execution, and in this, she attained a score of 12.566 for an average score of 12.716. She gave a tremendous performance and the other performances at the Asian Games were also worth watching.

Pranati scored 12.866 in vault, 10.300 and 11.233 in uneven bars, and 9.833 in floor exercise as it tallied 44.232 pushing Nayak to the finals. She played against tough rivalry. North Koreans secured the first two stops with An Chang Ok in first place. She had a score of 13.833 and her fellow gymnast Kim Sonhyung took the second position with a score of 13.583.

Then was Japan’s Kohane Ushioku who came in third with a score of 13.449. Following him was another contender who is America’s biggest rival in the gymnastics realm, China. From China, Yu Linmin secured the fourth position with a score of 13.383. In the fifth position was Oksana Ohusovitina from Uzbekistan with a score of 12.949 and Nayar followed her in the sixth position.

Pranati Nayar secured the 23rd position in the all-around competition but made it to the finals by keeping some points into consideration. The fact that a country can have a maximum of two gymnasts in the final and China, Japan, Chinese Tapei, North Korea, and the Republic of Korea have three players each in the line. This pushed India to the finals. The gymnastics enthusiasts cannot wait to watch the upcoming matches of the game.
