Olivia Dunne, or “Livvy,” as her fans call her, attended the New Jersey Devils vs. New York Rangers game at Prudential Center in New Jersey, but don’t think she knows anything about hockey—she is quite clueless about the sport. The 21-year-old Sports Illustrated Swimsuit rookie did not even have much of a clue when it came to the stats or the plays, but she had plenty of looks. When she recently attended the game, the NJ Devils went on to post a video of her on Instagram where she was wearing a black beanie with a red turtleneck sweater while captioning, “Doing cartwheels because @livvydunne is @prucenter tonight!

However, the best part was that Olivia Dunne wasn’t there alone—her sister Julz was with her, as always. Julz shared an Instagram story featuring a selfie of the two sisters at the game, with the caption reading, “

Game day @njdevils.”

What’s your perspective on:

Does Olivia Dunne's cluelessness about hockey make her more relatable or just out of place?

Have an interesting take?

Still, this was the second visit of Olivia Dunne as a guest at a hockey match. The last game she was able to catch was the New Jersey Devils against the Detroit Red Wings, ending in 3-2 at Prudential Center. One of her TikTok accounts has nearly 8m followers; she posted a short video of herself at the game, looking mildly baffled. The mock caption, “What the puck is going on?” humorously captured her lack of understanding, with the overlay text reading, “Just a baseball girlie trying to understand hockey.”

As with any sport, the fundamentals of the game, such as getting the puck past the other team’s defense, are relatively easy to understand, but all the rules, such as penalty and icing, would baffle anyone new to the sport.

As for the “baseball girlie” reference, it’s a nod to her boyfriend, Pittsburgh Pirates 2023 draft pick Paul Skenes, who played college baseball for LSU before joining the Pirates. Dunne, a member of LSU’s women’s gymnastics team, appears to be having fun at the games despite not being fully clued into the sport. However, it seems her NIL value, which is currently stuck at the same point, is not affecting her!

Olivia Dunne’s stagnant NIL value

It appears that Olivia Dunne’s NIL valuation is relatively stagnant at the moment. Even though she has millions of followers on social networks, she still can’t rise to the top. Prior to the NCAA championship this year, she was valued at $3.9 million and ranked second and was considered to increase further, more so when she decided to come back to LSU for her senior year. The hope was that she could even dislodge Shedeur Sanders, who currently leads with a NIL value of $6.2 million. But that is where it ended, to their surprise. In fact, Dunne NIL value has not increased at all but stayed constant all this time. She was recently pushed to third position by the end of early December with a valuation of $4.2 million when Arch Manning, a redshirt freshman, from the Manning Football family clan, amounted to $4.8 million.

And then it was football player Travis Hunter of Colorado who jumped a day later with a valuation of $4.5 million, moving Dunne to the fourth position. So she’s still left at $4.2 million as those athletes keep hitting new heights. But wait, it did not end there. In mid-December, Travis Hunter took an even more giant step from a position of $4.5 million to $5.2 million, putting him in a very serious position for that much-ballyhooed top slot. Manning also increased to $5 million.

Meanwhile, Dunne’s value stayed exactly where it was. The real question now is if Dunne’s NIL value will continue stagnating or if she will have the chance to improve the rankings in NIL in a field where they often can change quickly.
