Not even a week since Laurent Landi waved goodbye to the World Champions Centre, and guess what? The Biles-Landi reunion is already back on—but with a plot twist! This time, it’s Simone teaming up with Cecile Landi, aka the wifey of the French coaching duo. Honestly, is there a more iconic duo in gymnastics? Simone skyrocketed further in her GOAT status under Cecile’s and Laurent’s tutelage, smashing records and clinching hardware. But after helping Simone Biles dominate in Paris, Cecile decided to shake things up, trading the WCC’s familiar vibes for a fresh gig at the University of Georgia. Now, as co-head coach with Ryan Roberts, she’s sprinkling her coaching brilliance on the next generation of gymnasts chasing their dreams.

And talking about dreams, a dream has come true, and the Georgia Gym Dogs are in for a treat with gymnastics legend Simone Biles set to perform at the team’s season opener. With her close bond with Cecile Landi, Biles will be the chief guest on January 17 when Georgia takes on Boise State. Sharing the news on Instagram, Landi couldn’t hide her excitement, saying, “I can’t wait to see you. 😘 😘” Fans are buzzing, anticipating this special reunion that promises to be nothing short of magical.

A user on the gymnastics subreddit shared a post from UGA Gymnastics and Cecile Landi’s announcement of Simone Biles attending the Gymdogs’ first home meet of the season. The caption read, “We are super excited to announce that special guest Simone Biles will be attending the Gymdogs’ first home meet of the season!✨ Join us as we honor our Olympians and alumni on January 17th vs. Boise State!” The subreddit, of course, had the perfect caption—“Would be a nice reunion!” And honestly, we couldn’t agree more! And the fans? The fans flooded the post with excited comments, eagerly anticipating the reunion of the iconic duo.

One user popped in the comments section and said, “What a get for UGA. Great PR for the team. Whatever they paid Cécile is paying off.” And truly, we are fully in agreement with this statement! Getting Simone for the first home meet of the season? Jackpot. Earlier this year, fans were hyped to hear Cecile Landi would take up a new role as co-head coach at the University of Georgia after the Paris Olympics.

Simone was among the first to support her calling for Landi to take the position, and the time was right on the dot. The Bulldogs had a dominating run between 2005 and 2009 as NCAA champions, but after a barren run, Landi came into the picture to rekindle that passion.

What’s your perspective on:

Will Cecile Landi's move to UGA redefine the future of NCAA gymnastics with Simone by her side?

Have an interesting take?

Given that Cecile has been Biles’ support through the highs and lows, she was ready to take on the challenge head-on, and with the 70% increase in her salary, it appeared that UGA was willing to throw the money at the comeback. There were rumors that her new pay began with a massive 70% increase from her previous coaching position. Landi was set to take the Gymdogs back to the elite ranks with Ryan Roberts as her co-head coach. But guess what? Of course, many other comments were flying around this epic reunion!

Biles and Landi’s reunion got fans buzzing!

Another user chimed in with, “This is awesome!! Did anyone see her post on Threads where she said she’ll never do a triple double again? That makes me sad, I feel like she’s slowly getting closer to a retirement announcement eventually rather than coming back for ’28!” As it turns out, last year, Simone Biles said, “The next Olympics is on home turf. So you just never know. I’m just going to relax and see where life takes me.” But her documentary “Simone Biles Rising” offered a different perspective as she described what she’s going to miss most about gymnastics: “What I miss most about gymnastics is the freedom with my body. The ability that I have in the gym is not normal.” At just six, she started gymnastics and with five moves that were named after her, it’s clear that she is a GOAT.

Also, Simone works 35 hours a week, according to NBC in January; imagine how tough that is! Now, at 27, Biles is also a wife to Jonathan Owens, and that means that she has more responsibilities in her life. She may have thought about starting a family as well, which will keep her even busier. In the documentary, she has this to say about this emotional transition: “We’re saying goodbye to something we love. Mentally rewiring your brain is so hard.” So only time can tell if Simone will be in the next Olympics or not!

On the same note, another user commented, “It’s inevitable though right? WCC did an amazing job with bringing in Romania’s coaches after the Jordan Chiles fiasco. There’s a good chance of Biles continuing but she might retire at the same time too.” And well, it is bound to happen that someday Simone Biles will retire. While she has flourished under Cecile Landi and Laurent Landi, both of whom have now left WCC, the gym is making some serious moves.

They have signed Patrick Kiens and Daymon Jones, who are well known with coaching experience and especially with close association with Olympics. Kiens, who was the head of Romania’s Olympic team in the year 2024, and Jones, who has trained Austria and Egypt teams, are now in charge of the WCC women’s artistic gymnastics program. Another user hopped in with, “UGA getting their money’s worth 😭☝🏽.” And why not? With Cecile on their team bringing in Simone, it’s got fans beyond excited.

One more fan commented, “OMG I HAVE PLANE TICKETS ALREADY AND AM GOING TO THIS MEET!!!!! I mean I already did before I saw this. :)” This reunion is truly making fans go wild, and they can’t wait to see Simone and Cecile together again. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments!
