Before heading to the fifth SEC Meet donning the purple leotard, Olivia Dunne kept no stone unturned in her training schedule. It was one of the rare chances for the Lady Tigers to earn the championship title in the Smoothie King Center. So from the 21-year-old gymnast, the effort was no less. Moreover, teasing the fans’ excitement, Olivia Dunne posted a carousel of her training schedule on Snapchat just before the ending battle. Eventually, her effort paid off. 

On Saturday, the LSU Tigers concluded their second season endeavor in the SEC Championships after staying at the top. In the meantime, Olivia Dunne headed to her social media to mark the moment, her way.

After earning the SEC Conference title, the Tiger Nation didn’t waste a plinth of time to enter into razzmatazz. After all, the LSU Tigers women’s gymnastics squad bagged the title after a long gap of five years. For Olivia Dunne, the joyful mood brimmed brighter, as it could be her last season in the Tigers’ camp. So, after the victory, Olivia Dunne posted her gleeful avatar on IG captioning, “100% chance of purple reign”. Meanwhile, her IG post earned accolades from several corners. 

Alpine ski racing legend, Lindsey Vonn, congratulated Livvy in the comment box. That evenly suited the occasion, as on Saturday night, Livvy contributed a hefty 9.800 on the bars. It was Olivia Dunne’s second appearance on the same schedule this season. Her score in the final earned her the coveted third position. The Tigers squad ended with the second-highest score on the schedule in the SEC Championships this time. Everything seems to be almost perfect as Olivia Dunne is slowly approaching her gymnastic retirement. 

Is there a potential retirement waiting down the line? 

For the last several months, Olivia Dunne’s gymnastics retirement news has been taking rounds. The athlete herself shared a TikTok video in February revealing, “When the sport I’ve done for the past 18 years will come to an end in less than 2 months.” Since then, the question regarding her retirement chances has gained a firm position. But the ultimate stamp on the occurrence is yet to come. Olivia Dunne herself has displayed a hesitation to take the last call.

As the SEC Championships conclude with a memorable result, fans will look up to Olivia Dunne for her ultimate decision.
