Tis the season-Santa’s almost here! And, like every year, Simone Biles is working round the clock to ensure everything is ready before Christmas. After putting her decorating skills on display while competing for the Dick’s Holiday decor showdown, she flew to Chicago to be with Jonathan Owens. However, to give heed to her favorite Christmas ritual, she had to wait a bit longer for Owens to fulfill her wish.

Decorating the Christmas tree is Mr. and Mrs. Owens’ favorite Christmas tradition. But, this year, there was one thing left to do – getting the tree. “I’ve been begging Jonathan to go down to the basement and get the tree,” Biles confronted while talking to the People. And, like every year, this time too, the Owens are all set to ‘sleigh’ through their annual Holiday traditions.

Interestingly, after celebrating Thanksgiving in the Windy City, this is the second time this year that the gymnast returned to Bears’ hometown to kick off the holiday festivities. “This will be the first Christmas that we’ll spend alone together as a couple, which is actually really nice,” stated Biles.

Of course, their holiday plans revolve around football. Jonathan, who plays for the Chicago Bears, will be at Soldier Field on December 26, facing the Seattle Seahawks. So, while Simone made a sacrifice as she will miss seeing her grandparents and siblings this year on Christmas, she’s excited for some quiet, alone time with Jonathan. It’s a little sacrifice, but she’s all in for making memories with her husband this Christmas.

Last year, they shared a sweet kiss in front of their white Christmas tree, and posed for the camera wearing matching plaid pajamas in red, green, and white. “MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎁❤️,” Simone captioned the photo. Looks like we might see something similar this year with the pajama picture!

Simone Biles and Jonathan’s adorable first Christmas together

Back in 2022, Simone Biles kicked off the holiday season early by starting her Christmas decorations well before the typical holiday rush. She shared a glimpse of her Christmas tree on Instagram, showcasing its white ornaments and soft yellow lights, creating a Pinterest-worthy vibe.

This wasn’t the first time Simone had shared her beautiful tree with fans. In 2020, she celebrated her first Christmas with her then-boyfriend, Jonathan Owens, and posted adorable photos of the couple in matching holiday pajamas, standing in front of the same tree, which featured her signature white and silver ornaments.

The pair shared sweet moments, including a piggyback ride from Jonathan, and lots of smiles. Simone captioned one photo, “If Santa asks, the elves did it! Merry Christmas.” The tree also made an appearance on Jonathan’s Instagram, where he posted snaps with Biles and his family, wishing everyone happy holidays.

Even in 2021, Simone rang in her second Christmas with Jonathan in Texas, continuing the tradition of posting a cozy pajama picture, though this time without the dazzling tree. She also shared a photo of Jonathan enjoying a festive family dinner, writing, “Dinner dates. When the chef pulls up and cooks a four-course meal for Christmas Eve.” Looks like this year we’ll be seeing more of those same sweet traditions—Christmas tree, matching pajamas, and all!
