Is Jordan Chiles being unfairly stripped of her Olympic glory due to bureaucratic chaos?

Get ready for the final curtain call of the Gold Over America Tour (GOAT)! Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles are bringing their incredible show to a close. After touring through more than thirty American cities, the pop-themed gymnastics show will drop the curtain on November 3. The show will stop grooving the fans for this year. And after its conclusion, the stars will return to their own spaces to continue their engagement. Chiles will follow the same drill. She will have to return to her daily life. Yet she has a few things left in her book that might connect her to the gymnastics nerve, even after the GOAT tour.

First, Jordan Chiles has yet to see a settlement in her ongoing Olympic medal controversy. However, as per the latest update, the 23-year-old has filed her appeal in the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland to get a solution. Notably, Jordan had completed her routine in the women’s floor exercise in Paris by being fifth. Later, an inquiry upgraded her score based on the difficulty of her routine and made her third. Meanwhile, Chiles grabbed her bronze. But things didn’t seem to be that easygoing.

Because of Jordan Chiles’s third-place upgrade, Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu had to leave her place to the American gymnast. Well, that resulted in a controversy, and the Romanian Gymnastics Association took it to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). After a period of investigation and hearings, CAS ordered FIG to award the bronze medal to Barbosu, stripping Chiles of her laurel. The issue has still been continuing as Team USA and Jordan vowed to see a respectful end to it. Isn’t something complicated for someone who had to give away her first Olympic individual title because of a fiasco? Well, that seems to make the gymnast think about her days. Yet she is still making her inroads and will continue to do so. How?

Only Jordan Chiles knows that answer. But she has given a hint through her latest Instagram story. On November 1, Chiles shared a story on her Instagram feed with the caption, “One thing this little girl will always remind me is don’t let one story dictate your whole book!” The post frames her sitting on a stage while a large cutout of her childhood avatar shows behind the LED screen. A lot of things in one picture! So is there something being cooked behind? Well, the caption displays her mindset to walk forward, leaving the debates behind. She has her options, though, to cherish the fresh happenings.

Jordan Chiles’s first option is her return to the UCLA gymnastics camp. Yes, after 2023, Chiles is set to return to the Bruins for the 2025 gymnastics season. The last time she wore the Bruins’ color, the gymnast left the mat with the title of NCAA runner-up in the all-around segment. Also, she managed to earn eight first-team All-America honors in 2023. An enviable achievement for a college gymnast! In 2025, Chiles will look forward to extending the fun on the mat. And she has engagements in elite gymnastics as well. Overall, plenty of schedules are on the list where Jordan may get chances to write “a book.” Yet, how does her childhood persona inspire her to engage in a fresh endeavor? Is there any link?
