Olivia Dunne has been getting the heat recently for trying to ‘up the ante’ of an offer made by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Recently on November 15, the MLB franchise dished out a special offer for all the Pirates’ fans. The management revealed a special edition rookie debut patch card of Paul Skenes recently. Signed by the athlete himself, the Pirates stated that anyone who finds the card will be subjected to some exclusive offers.
It included a couple of Pirates’ home game tickets which will be situated right behind the home plate. While this was already an enticing offer, guess what the Pirates decided to throw in next? The lucky winner will be getting two free tickets for every game for the next 30 years! Add to that a couple of original jerseys signed by Paul Skenes, a meet-and-greet opportunity with the player, and a host of other benefits.
Surely, such an offer made the fans overly excited to go for the hunt. However, amidst all these, Skenes’ girlfriend, the LSU heartthrob, Olivia Dunne too, decided to chime in with her own offer. Sharing the news, Dunne commented, “Let’s raise the stakes. The person who finds the card can sit with me at a Pirates game in my suite.” Now, while Dunne’s clause was officially accepted by the card company Topps, this offended the baseball fans significantly. They insisted that the previous offer itself was attractive enough and they did not need Dunne’s added clause to feel excited.

Now, a new layer has been added to the whole Paul Skenes special edition card saga. Speaking on the same lines as Dunne, her sister, Julz Dunne too had her own clause added. Taking to her Instagram story, Julz Dunne mentioned, “Fine everyone stop asking let me raise the bar: I’ll be in the suite too.” Well, with each passing day, the offer seems to be getting bigger and bigger. It will now really be a lucky find for the winner, who will not only enjoy exclusive Pirates benefits but will also get to interact with the Dunnes.
However, it remains to be seen how the baseball fraternity reacts to the news of Julz Dunne. Having already trolled Olivia, with comments like “Does anyone really care?” and “Lame next offer,” her sister could also face a similar sentiment. But speaking of Olivia Dunne, this was not the only instance of her getting trolled in recent times.
Olivia Dunne trolled for being a ‘benchwarmer’
Olivia Dunne had her wish fulfilled when she lifted the NCAA championship trophy for LSU last year. However, Dunne was not a part of the regular team and was handed the role of a substitute. This did not sit well with many internet fans as they began to mock Livvy. The trolls even questioned her credibility stating that she was not worthy of being called a champion.

Opening up about it on Amazon Prime’s The Money Game, Olivia Dunne didn’t hold back, saying, “There’s people calling me just mean things, calling me a professional bench warmer.” Ouch. But it’s important to note that LSU coach Jay Clark also kept Olivia in his back pocket as a secret weapon.
“My role on the team was like to step up when I needed to,” she explained during the Best of Both Worlds podcast with Flau’jae. The only reason she didn’t compete in the finals? LSU had 25 injury-free gymnasts to choose from. As the highest-valued female NIL athlete, Dunne wasn’t having any of the “professional benchwarmer” talk that followed the NCAA Championship finals.

She made it clear that despite battling injuries, she competed in 10 out of 13 meets during the season. “I feel like it’s kind of me being a gymnast and people don’t understand the sport, that they have the audacity to say those things,” she added. Now, instead of letting the trolls win, Olivia is ready to prove them all wrong.
She announced her comeback for another season, and this time, she’s working harder than ever to make sure she’s on that final roster—one that’s going to lift the trophy twice. It’s still to be seen how Olivia will juggle her professional and social life moving forward, but one thing’s for sure—she’s not backing down.
