The Utah-born gymnast Mykayla Skinner called artistic gymnastics off to focus on her personal life goals. Marrying Jonas Harmer in 2019 was one of the biggest decisions she had taken after that. Fast forward to now, the 26-year-old has graced motherhood to welcome her first-born, a baby girl.

On September 21, 2023, after several sleepless nights, and losing 11 pounds in the first trimester, Skinner delivered her sunshine. Since then, the 2020 Olympic vault silver medalist’s journey got tougher. Before giving birth, she required IV fluids to cover up her lost pounds. And now, little Lottie’s father is causing more trouble than the whining child. In a recent post, Skinner spoke candidly about her woes.

Mykayla Skinner has post-pregnancy difficulties

As a gymnast, Skinner partook in the challenges and executed her routines without much hassles. On the contrary, her mom-life has nearly unsolvable issues that don’t lie in her hands. Right after birth, they rushed Lottie to the hospital due to complications. Jonas Harmer, the new dad, is apparently showing no signs of progress in responsibly handling Lottie. In the same vein, he even labored to change the baby’s diaper a while ago.

In a recent X post, a user shared a video of the Hamers, talking about baby issues. She said, “Jonas can’t handle when she cries.” Though her voice sounded mellow, the disappointment was evident. In response, Mr. Harmer said, “I can handle for like two minutes”. As funny as it sounded, the gymnast went on with bundles of complaints. She added, “He called me like three times in a store freaking out when I went to get a medicine.”

Cutting her in the middle, he stood his ground strong saying, “Cause you took forever, you went to get two things, and I was there for like half an hour with a screaming baby.” As an explanation, Skinner narrated the whole pharmacy story and the reason for her being late. In the end, the couple settled the matter with ‘anyway’ and moved on to parent their child with a clear head.

However, this isn’t all. In a recent post, the dad faced his ‘scariest’ nightmare while attending to the baby solo. Refusing to step up, the mom enjoyed the scene from afar, while the dad handled a poop-covered baby.

Harmer’s baby story

Recorded in a CCTV, the new dad had some humor content up his sleeves on November 2, 2023. While changing Lottie’s diapers he captioned, ?No sound effects were added? yes it sounded like a gunshot (laughing emoji) Just a day in the life as a dad!! Baby Lottie keeps us on our toes.? As funny as the caption sounded, the in-video texts were funnier.

He said, ?Probably didn?t even need to change her, ” following a ‘BANG’ and the father pushed back, baffled. He further added, “Gaaah She just shot poop out?. When Mykayla Skinner asked, ?Why?d you have to freak out?? Harmer had the most blatant answer. He said, ?Because I don?t want it to get on me, are you kidding”. Since the mother didn’t step in, the father stated, ?OH, now she is stepping in it, HELP!?.

Though the new parents are facing troubles, they’re living every moment with all smiles and joy. Now, fans look forward to the US gymnastics woman making history again.
