Jordan Chiles is enjoying a spectacular year. She won a medal of each color at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. Chiles claimed the gold in the team event, the silver in the women’s vault, and the bronze in the women’s all-around in gymnastics. Aside from playing a starring role in a triumphant Pan-American Games, she fulfilled another dream.

Jordan Chiles got to be a flag-bearer at a major international event for the first time. She got to carry the Stars and Stripes, along with Vincent Hancock, during the opening ceremony. Hancock is an Olympian and a shooter. He has three gold medals in skeet shooting at three different Olympic Games. Now, Chiles will get the chance to complete another item on her bucket list.

Jordan Chiles to be a part of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

The 22-year-old shared a story on Instagram featuring an image of a giant turkey. Taking center stage in that image were the words, “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” in a red star with a gold outline. Adjoining the image were the words, Happy Thanksgiving! Don?t miss the #macysparade on @nbc, starting tomorrow at 8:30 AM EST. Bucketlist item loading! Catch me representing the Olympics during the parade #parisolympics.

Aside from Jordan Chiles, a number of stars will grace the current edition of the parade. There are a number of musical performers lined up for the same. That list includes the likes of Cher, Pentatonix, Ashley Park, Amanda Shaw, and so on. Cher will be the final performer during the parade, set to go on just before Santa Claus arrives in his sleigh.

Others who are set to join the festivities

Jordan Chiles will not be the only sportsperson to be part of the festivities in this manner. US track and field Paralympian Ezra Frech and Paralympic swimming gold medalist Jessica Long complete that line-up. According to Fox 59 News, this year, there will be 26 floats, 32 novelty and heritage inflatables, 12 marching bands, 700 clowns, and eight performance groups.

Jordan Chiles will get to fulfill a longstanding dream when she gets to be part of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. She will keep one eye on the 2024 Paris Olympics as she continues with her preparation for that. Chiles suffered a painful fall during competition in the Pan American Games and took time to recover from the same. It remains to be seen how well she does in the City of Light next summer.
