Brody Malone bags his second US Gymnastics Championships win
When they returned home empty-handed, the US men’s gymnastics team had let down their fans in the 2020 Olympics. But, as the nation saw Malone artfully gliding his way on the bars, the hope for a better Olympics run in 2024 arose. The young athlete finished at the top of the table with 176.590 points, gathering 88.942 on day one and 87.648 on day two. He managed to tower the arena over all the other gymnasts by at least a 5-point margin.
Gymnast Donnell Whittenburg trailed behind Brody with 171.571 points in total. Whittenburg, 28 was the oldest gymnast on the team, and if he wins a medal at Olympics, that will make him the oldest man to get one in gymnastics since 2003.
The other members of the U.S.A team, namely Asher Hong, Yul Moldauer, Curran Phillips, and others have to work harder at the upcoming camp if they want an entry to the 2024 team.
