The Auburn gymnastics team has been on an upward trajectory since the showcase of the past 5 meets, courtesy of its excelling roster. However, as the Tigers head to Baton Rouge, LA in hopes of a 5th consecutive win for the season, the team will be missing one of its essential players: Sophomore gymnast, Madelynn Crow sitting out due to an injury incurred recently.

Gymnastics stars are no strangers to injuries, minor or large. A step missed to an inch could prove difficult for a gymnast’s continued career. Madelynn Crow, the Auburn gymnastics’ growing name, succumbed to one such injury but on scale enough to end her season. “Heart is heavy,” she writes, reflecting on the situation.

On the 15th of February, Madelynn Crow, an Auburn Gymnastics sophomore took to her Instagram to talk about her injury and the obligation to sit out of the meet. The 20-year-old reportedly suffered a lower-body injury that pulled a stop on her gymnastics season. “No words can describe how heartbroken I am. To have spent this past year putting my heart and soul into my gymnastics, just to have it all taken away by a season-ending injury,” she writes in the post. She further thanks her program for the opportunity so far and god for giving her a role to support and shower love over the team for the rest of the season; thus, finding optimism on the path of uncertainty.

The youngster joined the Auburn Gymnastics roster just last year following her freshman year at Georgia. Until then, Madelynn grew to claim state champion title on GHSAH all-around, bars, and floor and became the first female to win state for gymnastics at her high school.

The 2024 season would have thus marked Crow’s first with the Auburn Tigers with much to contribute but the road held an unforeseen stop. Despite the adversity, the 20-year-old reveals she couldn’t be more “excited or honored to be standing alongside them to watch the rest of our season unfold.” And the team seeks to stand by the hope.
