Michael Phelps is putting his flexibility to good use on the golf course. The legendary swimmer retired from competitive sports in 2016 after winning five gold medals at the Rio Olympics. Now he spends a significant amount of time golfing with his friends. Phelps has enjoyed the sport since his childhood and would often rush to the golf course whenever he was bored with swimming. Now with all the time in his hand, Michael Phelps has fully embraced his passion for golf and is honing his skills on the course.

Phelps recently stayed at the Pine Canyon Golf Course in Flagstaff, Arizona. He commemorated the visit with a picture of himself on the course, sharing his excitement with his fans on social media.

Michael Phelps had once revealed that his coach Bob Bowman had presented him with a poster with the top 100 golf courses around the world. Phelps had said that it would be his post-retirement goal to play in each one of them. He said, “every time I play one, I put a little pin on it”. This time he can cross off Pine Canyon Golf Course from that list. Michael Phelps has visited the golfing community many times in the past.

His visit brought major excitement to the city, and they made sure that Phelps enjoyed his stay. According to FlagSpammer, the City Council said, “I mean Michael Phelps stays there sometimes, how cool is that?” The superstar athlete showed his appreciation for the warm welcome with a picture on his social media account.

Phelps posted a picture from the Pine Canyon Golf Course on his Instagram story with the caption, “A great day @pinecanyonaz w great peeps!”. He clicked the usie with four other golfers who were equally thrilled to have the opportunity to play alongside the Olympic champion. The legendary athlete has also begun testing out his skills in major golfing tournaments. This has raised questions in the minds of many if “the human fish” is ready to make a splash on the golf course.

Is Michael Phelps ready to become a professional golfer?

Phelps won the Waste Management Phoneix Open earlier this year with a splendid Whoop shot. He competed alongside many professional golfers and still held his own. Before this, everyone thought golfing was his hobby, but now he may have a future in golf. Phelps also appeared for the AmFam Champ Celebrity Foursome in June. He hit the golf ball with incredible strength and precision right off the tee.

Phelps took golfing lessons from legendary trainer Hank Haney. Haney had trained Tiger Woods and helped him become one of the greatest golfers ever. Phelps has already started his career as a pro golfer with two victories. It remains to be seen if Phelps will continue to pursue golf as a full-time career or if it will remain a side hobby.
