The Canadian pair of Kirsten Moore-Towers and Michael Marinaro are also not on the list of participants for the world championship. Although the major question here is that what made the duo pull out of the championship at the eleventh hour? Their performance in the Beijing Winter Olympics had certainly not been great, but they had a pretty good chance of winning the championship in France.
Why did Kirsten Moore-Towers not compete in World Figure Skating Championship?
The Canadian Figure Skater revealed that the gymnastics legend Simone Biles inspired her to decide upon what’s best for her at this moment. She gave a reference of Simone Biles’ Tokyo Olympic decision and said, “If someone like Simone Biles can come forward and say ‘I just can’t do it,’ it made me feel so much less alone and less ashamed really of my own thoughts.”

Kirsten Moore feels tired
The two-time Olympian is well aware of her current physical state. She said, “I’m going to be super honest and candid. I felt tired and like I couldn’t fight enough fight that’s required to compete your best at a world championship.”

Kirsten further revealed that she was facing a lot of difficulties while preparing for the Olympic season as well.
It’s always good to take a break and give yourself the time that is needed. Kirsten is doing the same, as she doesn’t want to be in contention without being 100% ready for battle.
