The ‘Stars on Ice’ event has begun its tour and the first stop on their list was Orlando, FL. With Nathan Chen in the lineup, everyone expected it to be a great show and, it certainly was. The crowd was sent into a frenzy as Chen performed a backflip during his performance.
After the performance, people were left spellbound by Chen’s performance as some even compared him with the gymnast Simone Biles. With the tour being in Florida, Nathan and the other skaters decided to take a field day to go out and visit the Walt Disney World.
Nathan posted a photo on his Instagram with the caption “skaters take on the most magical place on earth” as he posed with the rest of the group.

Chen is seen standing in the middle of the group with a white tee as we can see the group imitating a wave similar to a mural of Mickey Mouse in the background.
In the second photo, Chen is seen posing in front of a few trees from a movie set. The third photo in the post is of Nathan posing with a replica of a character from the movie series ‘Cars’. The final slide contains a short video of the troopers from the famous movie franchise, Star Wars.
Chen seems extremely happy and relaxed, which is a good sign as he has been having trouble with mental health-related issues.

Chen’s Battle with Mental Health Issues
In 2018, Nathan was heartbroken as a rather catastrophic short program left him reeling at 17th place. Even a personal-best long program did not bring him up to medal a position as he finished 5th in the event. Left in shambles, the then 18-year-old received a call.
An unexpected supporter in Serena Williams had called him to show support and offer guidance.

She’s an amazing athlete and a wonderful human,” remarked Chen. Talking about the incident, he said that Serena had messaged him voicing her support and offering her guidance during trying times. The two have since been communicating in small “nuggets”.
Simone Biles has been another source of inspiration for him during this time. The gymnast’s daring decision to withdraw from the Olympic events helped instill a lot of confidence in the youngster.
