Recalling what went wrong in Pyeongchang, Nathan said, “When I finished 2018, all I remember were the tough times and how much pressure I felt.”
Perhaps the onus of performing well backfired for the 18-year-old Nathan, as he further added, “It was dream come true, to be able to compete at the Olympics and represent the US at the Olympics. But I just felt that it was so overwhelming and challenging that I just wanted to go home.”
Nevertheless, we all learn from our past mistakes, and when Nathan Chen got the same opportunity after four years, he turned it into an unforgettable moment.

Today, Nathan Chen is an Olympic champion, a three-time world champion, and holds every current record in figure skating. For an 18-year-old boy who lost his Olympic dream at Pyeongchang, he has certainly come a long way. Additionally, he is the leading figure skater in the Stars on Ice Tour.
