The last Winter Olympics has been the most eventful for figure skating star Nathan Chen. The figure skater secured the most Olympic medals in his competitive career at this meet. It included a gold medal in the individual category.

Although the athlete was hailed as the favorite to secure gold in the individual event at the 2018 Winter Games, he finished fifth. The Olympian is bringing about a few changes in his career following his recent victory at the Beijing Olympics 2022.
Latest development in the life of Nathan Chen
It includes getting his memoir published. The 23-year-old announced the release of his book, ‘One Jump at a Time: My Story’ through an Instagram post.
The post read, “I’ve spent the last few months reflecting on everything — the joys, the pain, the life-changing moments, and the challenges — that have brought me to where I am, and I’m so excited to share those reflections in my upcoming book..” #OneJumpAtATime.”

“This project has been so deeply personal to me and I am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to tell my story in this way,” Chen added.

The memoir explores the life of the figure skater as he navigates through the day-to-day hardships he has had to face since stepping into the world of competitive figure skating. Moreover, the book also touches upon the financial challenges his family endured as a result of the expenses associated with the sport.
Although the memoir will release on November 22, it is available for pre-order on Amazon. Moreover, Nathan Chen has also announced that he has partnered with his current publisher for a children’s picture book. The book will release sometime next year.
What are Chen’s immediate plans for the future?
Chen made a few career decisions after returning from the Beijing Winter Olympics. It will allow the figure skating champion to focus on his studies at Yale University. Previously, the three-time Olympic medalist took a break from his studies in 2020 to prepare for the 2022 Winter Games.

The athlete is taking some time off from the sport after securing gold at the individual event. During this time, the two-time Olympian hopes to complete his major in statistics and data science. Currently, Chen is preparing to return to the Yale campus in August to continue his studies.
