The PBR UTB Great NorthWest Invitational is underway in Everett, Washington State, and it has been an exciting day, to say the least. It was just yesterday that the 19-year-old rookie, Tate Pollmeier, made headlines after he won the first round of the invitational. And today, Boudreaux Campbell has come to the limelight after completing a dangerous ride.
Boudreaux Campbell, the American professional rodeo cowboy, specializes in bull riding. He has shown off his skills today after he rode the angry bull Drago for a full 8-seconds. The ride was astonishing and it left the arena in a frenzy, as Campbell held on for his dear life on the back of the raging bull.

The official PBR YouTube channel posted a video of the entire ride, and it was an adrenaline-inducing performance. The cowboy was riding Drago, a gargantuan bull whose moves were as ferocious as it looked. Campbell, however, completely aced the ride and got an amazing score of 88.5.
After finishing the ride, in a short interview, Campbell was asked, “You’ve been slammed, you’ve taken some hard hits last few weeks. Where does that come from?” His answer was simple, “This is what I do for a living. We ride bulls professionally, so… These people come here to see bull rides.” The rodeo champion was able to complete the entire 8 seconds on Drago’s back, and it catapulted him to the top.

The video shows the bull charging out of the stalls, and then brutishly bucking as Campbell holds on for dear life. Boudreaux Campbell’s grip was strong, and he absolutely dominated the rapacious bull. When the whistle rang, indicating the end of the ride, Drago did manage to buck off Campbell face-first into the dirt. But that fall was worth the glory that Campbell got after completing the ride.

Campbell is now the top man
As Boudreaux Campbell fell after his ride, the commentator said, “Boudreaux just brought the BAM, but guess what, Drago made him taste the dirt.” While Campbell might have tasted a little bit of dirt, the payoff was much bigger. Campbell went from being the world no. 7 to being the world no. 1.
This is not his first successful ride on the back of the behemoth Drago. During Round 2 at the 2023 PBR Unleash the Beast Ty Murray Invitational which took place in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Campbell rode Drago for an amazing score of 88.75. The Albuquerque win brought him to 4th place overall.
