The Red Bluff Round-Up is one of the most popular events in the world of bull riding. The competition is responsible for bringing some of the best cowboys in the country into one arena. This year, the Red Bluff Round-Up has been renewed for its 102nd installment. While the fame of this bull riding event precedes it, the popularity takes nothing away from the fact that it is still dangerous.

And what bull riding event isn’t? The tussle between the bovine athletes and the people mounting them mostly ends in some injury, or worse, even casualties. This year’s Red Bluff was no different.

On Saturday, during round 1 of the Red Bluff Round-Up, three riders got injured in action. As several bull riders clashed with gigantic and angry bovines in a race to win more than $350,000, some paid the price. A bull rider was injured as the bull bucked the rider off its back and then continued to stomp.

The bull rider got caught in the stomps after he was thrown off the bull’s back. The force with which the hooves hit the rider ensured that his injuries would be a grave concern for the audience. This is probably why the official Facebook page of the Red Bluff Round-Up calmed the worries of the fans by providing them with an update on the bull riders’ health.

The post stated, “We wanted to update everyone on Saturday’s incident involving one of the contestants during bull riding. We spoke with the rider’s family and he is home, doing okay, and will make a full recovery.” The bull rider was not the only one who got injured during the event.

Two horse jockeys were also injured during that round of Red Bluff Round-Up. The post on the official Facebook page provided an update about them as well, and it said, “Regarding the injured racehorse jockeys, one rider was transported to the hospital, and the other was checked on by on-site paramedics and refused further treatment.” The first horse jockey was injured when his horse failed to make a proper turn in the quarter-mile horse race. The horse hit the fence, and as a result, the jockey suffered. The fence was also damaged.

The second jockey got injured during the Furlong Pro Open. When the rider, along with the horse, was making the final turn, the jockey was thrown off the horse. Luckily, everyone who sustained a wound at the event was treated and turned out to be fine. The Association thanked everyone who showed concern and wrote, “The Red Bluff Round-Up Association would like to thank everyone who reached out and wished our participants a strong recovery. We are thankful for the exceptional care readily available to all athletes at the Red Bluff Round-Up.”
