In a recent turn of events, Lyles took up the stage to laud his new interest, eSports. Despite being a renowned world-class track and field star he didn’t shy off cheering up for his favour eSports team. Taking up to the X (formerly Twitter) comments box, he put his gaming love out for them.

Recently, LoL Esports tweeted about team NRG with the caption, “The faithful have been rewarded. #Worlds2023”. As the commnet section flooded, one particular grabbed the attention. Showcasing his enthusiasm and support for the eSports organization NRG, Noah Lyles commented, “@NRGLeague with the amazing upset. That was amazing!” The latest tweet has garnered significant attention, and his quote further bridges the gap between traditional sports and esports.

Lyles was cheering for the team NRG at the Worlds 2023 eSports tournament. As the esports organization NRG has defied the odds and crushed G2 in a decisive 2-0 win, securing a spot in the Worlds 2023 Quarterfinals. This victory is particularly noteworthy as NRG is the first LCS team to make it to the Knockout Stage since 2021.
Lyles’ favourite NRG heads toward the trophy
The team’s first split in the LCS saw them triumph against Cloud9, a team that had defeated them only a few weeks previously. With a dominating 2-0 win over G2, they’d throw all those preconceived beliefs out the window. North American teams have taken a lot of fire in recent years for their international results.
NRG paved the path as a North American team to give their shot at winning Worlds. However, NRG has shown that they are here to play and defy expectations. NRG’s first response to winning was sending some heat right back to G2 after the LEC, as they thought NRG would be an easy opponent.

However, all the players performed decently, but Contractz’s gameplay was incredibly good in both matches and the rest of the team being on the same page as the series MVP jungler, NRG made it look easy. With momentum in their favor, who knows how far NRG will go? As they head towards the trophy, fans of both Noah Lyles and NRG seem to be eagerly watching.
