On the 13th of July, 2023, Jennifer appealed to help out North American-based rider and trainer Simone Besutti after his major accident in the month of May. She urged everyone who can help to lend a hand to her friend.

Jennifer Gates raises a request for a contribution

On her Instagram account, Jennifer Gates uploaded a story expressing, “One of the hardest working people in the industry needs our help.” and appealing, “If you are able, please consider contributing.” In the story, she tagged Horse Network’s post that spoke about Simone Besutti’s situation. In May, Besutti faced a serious riding accident, resulting in a compound pilon fracture on his leg, which caused severe issues on his ankle joint. He faced a lot of surgeries and months of intensive rehab are still waiting for him.

It is very succinct that with this injury and so many surgeries, comes a long list of medical bills. Simone is a professional rider and trainer, and his income has been extremely affected by this event. Jennifer Gates comes out in support of Simone Besutti 

Besutti is considered to be the therapist for his close relationship with the horses. You will always find him in the saddle or looking at his horses and riders. Simone expresses, “I am observing all the time, watching our riders training on their own and seeing how the horses are responding,” on his roles supporting and exercise riding for Jennifer Gates and other partners. His job is more mental than physical for him.

Simone and Jennifer has been working with each other for a very long time. He says that when he comes to prepare Cody for Gates, her naturally soft nature connects with the horse, and he thinks that it is the quality needed to be successful on the course. According to Horse Network, Besutti comments, “Jenn has an amazing eye for the distance and a good sense of the canter and getting to the base of the jump. That makes it easy, getting the horses ready for her.”

We hope that the Italian rider and trainer gets better from his injury and comes out of the surgeries. Jennifer Gates has made an emotional appeal and hopes that people will come forward to help her friend.
