In Ontario, Canada, Katie Coleman started her horseback riding career. She began riding in Pony Club as a child and quickly became quite active in the eventing community. In her teenage years, she started working as a show groom for famous hunter/jumper trainer Mark Hayes. Her development as a horsewoman was greatly influenced by these early 17 years.
