Injuries in sports aren’t rare sights. Whilst involved in their performances, players are also constantly at risk of falling prey to unfortunate occurrences. And in the precedencies of eventuality, equestrian Trenten Montero bid his final goodbye, after suffering a threatening injury.
The 31-year-old bareback rider was performing at the Owyhee County Rodeo in Homedale, Idaho when he incurred the injury. And to one’s dismay, Trenten suffered catastrophic circumstances that eventually obliged him to shut his eyes forever.

Cowboy Trenten Montero on August 10th performed for one last time at the Owyhee County Rodeo. At the nearing end of the event, with the equestrian just finishing in a second, the horse he was riding succumbed to a fall. The incident further resulted in the horse rolling over Trenten Montero as he dropped.
As a consequence of the matter, Trenton suffered multiple serious injuries. He incurred broken ribs, fractured lungs, an injury to the pancreas, and other grueling truths as per the reports. Considering the state of the matter in sight, the cowboy was rushed to the hospital.
Despite repeated attempts by the hospital, the surgeries and trials remained unsuccessful. Montero fought for 20 difficult days to keep himself alive. But regrettably, the beloved Naveda cowboy took his last breath on the 31st of August in the presence of his family and friends. In defiance of his short life, Trenten sure knew how to befriend, love, and inspire those around him.

Tribute to the beloved Equestrian
Throughout his career as a bareback rider, Trenton Montero had achieved a prominent status in the realm of rodeo. Among his accomplishments, Montero had been qualified for the 2019 National Final Rodeo where he finished 10th earning a whopping $170,296. Further, the cowboy won the NFR round 2, finishing at 90.5 ride with $89,538.
Besides the staggering numbers, Trenten knew how to give back to his community and held deep ties with his homeland. “It’s awesome to represent Winnemucca,” Montero said. “I have so much support from my hometown. I have so many people come up and wish me good luck.” Montero was later revealed to be a part of the Rascal Rodeo whilst also providing his services as an instructor at a non-profit organization.
Following his demise, organizations, and friends of the bareback rider, took to social media to express their grief.

Announcing the news of Trenton’s demise, wife Maria shared her love and distress online. “There are no words. Heaven took my best friend and made him an angel. Trenten kept his promise and fought until the very end. Strongest cowboy and greatest man.” The caption read.
