Wonderful equestrian matches are something that every sports lover wishes to see. They are a delight to watch. Similarly, the last match at Te Rapa on 29th July, Saturday is one of them. Te Akau Racing has closed the season with a bang at Te Rapa. Hero Worship and Warren Kennedy graced the last race with their presence.
The Te Akau Team has a bunch of very talented horses, they have a wealth of experience in it. Warren Kennedy is a South African horse racing jockey who was the 2019/20 and 2021/22 South African Champion Jockey. He has also won Group 1 races in South Africa and one in New Zealand as well and has been a qualified rider since 2000.

Under the team Te Akau, Warren Kennedy has shown off his wonderful skills. He picked up his pace gracefully in the last race and gave his team a proud moment by ending the season incredibly. He has proven his worth effortlessly in the race that took place on July 29. This successful equestrian had a good career going on in South Africa, but he has recently shifted to New York with his family.

Warren has run multiple successful races and has been a South African Champion Jockey. In his recent race on 15th July, he was riding Hero Worship (Xtravagant), he came out of the pack with an ultimate finish for second in the rating 65 1200 meters. He again carries the top weight (60 kg).

Warren Kennedy plans for his family and career
Warren Kennedy had his entire career set in South Africa, but for his family, he shifted to New York in October 2022. After some days his wife Barbara and daughters Jamie Lee and Ryleigh joined him in a move initiated by the founder of Byerley Park Daniel Nakhle and former jockey Donovan Mansour. He expressed, “I wanted to spend a lot more time with my family as South Africa races every single day, and I was on a plane all the time.”

Warren just wishes to keep a better balance between his workload and family, and it was really difficult for him to do it in South Africa. He had shifted to New York with a very impressive record and had seven G1 winners at his name at home. Even though he attained so many achievements, he knew that he had to prove himself all over again. Kennedy expressed, “It’s not easy coming to a new country and not knowing what to expect, even if I did have a good CV.” He expects to play multiple more wonderful races and on top of that, the most important thing for him, he can make time for his family.
