The rodeo prodigy began riding at the age of nine. Speaking about his childhood, Hayes once mentioned that he grew up participating in mutton-busting and also rode calves, steers, and junior bulls. Standing at 5’6″, this cowboy’s father is a truck driver, and his mother works as a banker. His initial success came in the junior National High School Rodeo Association in 2016 when he secured the title of World Bareback Steer Riding Champion. In the 2018 NHSRA, he claimed the title of Reserve World Champion Bareback Rider.
This year, the twenty-year-old cowboy has emerged victorious at Rodeo Austin (Texas), the Mountain States Circuit Finals in Loveland, Colorado, the Home Of Champions Rodeo, and the San Angelo (Texas), among many others. With his current earnings amounting to $202,714, he now holds the coveted No. 1 position in the world rankings for bareback riding.
