It is flat turf season back in the UK and it has called for the equestrian community’s one of the most prestigious juvenile racing. The Curragh on Sunday hosted Europe’s richest juvenile racing carrying a purse equalling $1,067,250. The annual race in Ireland featured 2-year-old thoroughbreds running over a course of 7 furlongs. The race was supposedly open exclusively for equines purchased at Goffs Orby Sale and making it to the race was one of Connolly Syndicate-owned equines on debut.

The race saw fierce competition between 23 thoroughbreds racing to the finish. And just when the audience all had their eyes on the speculated winner, it was Jockey Billy Lee’s equine sprinting clear off the crowded horses leading to a clear win. The finish posted on Facebook by Horse Racing Ireland wasn’t just a celebration for the team but for fans awaiting as well.

As the gates opened for the 23 equines on the start line on Sunday, the spectators were left in bewilderment as the lead equine stayed hidden. But as the match progressed, it was Cherry Blossom, Chaturanga, Storm Miami, and Beauty Thunder taking an obvious lead. However, with the final furlong left on the map, Cherry Blossom, Frankie Dettori, and One Look burst through. Taking it home at the last minute, One Look emerged as the winner.

The two-year-old Bay filly trained by P Twomey finished her first-ever stakes with a win. “She’s a nice filly and she’s been a nice filly all year…I thought she was ready to start and good enough to be competitive. The plan was to track Frankie and see how we got on.”; Twomey said according to Racing TV. Her win earned One Look a total of €610,000 as the winner’s share.

Taking the happy moment to Facebook, Horse Racing Ireland posted the team’s win. Captioning the post, HRI wrote, “How it feels to win Europe’s richest juvenile race!  Congratulations to the Connolly Syndicate and all connections of One Look, who stormed home in the Goffs Million under @wjlee24786 for Paddy Twomey.”

Joining in on the celebrations, the fans and spectators couldn’t help but express their regard for the equine’s impressive performance and the team’s flawless success.

The Europe’s richest juvenile racing is bound to pull in a tight crowd. The audience attending for a race of vigor and quality were on the receiving end for what they came for. And expressing their views, the fans jumped in at the comment section. “Very impressive, jockey timed to perfection. Brave trainer too,” a user commented extending congratulations to the entire team. While another read, “Congrats to All involved Brilliant ride and Brilliant turn of foot”

Fans who were impressed by the equine’s performance couldn’t hold back either. “You have to be impressed with that ride and performance that’s as good as any O’Brien maiden winner this year if not better .well done well deserved.” And the other comment read, “Best runner for Gleneagles (sire) to date!”

One of the fans present for the race chimed in to comment, “I was there yesterday and that was some performance went by Cherry Blossom as if she was standing still,” applauding One Look for the performance on the final furlong. Further, the impressed fans also poured in to give a pat on the back.

With its exceptional performance, One Look has already captivated the audience. Fans even commented to say that the equine was one for the future. Hoping the stance stays worth the words, the present audience awaits the filly’s growing journey.
