School for learning equestrian activities is a complete dream for horse lovers. Alison Friedman, the owner of Miwok Equestrian Center has made this dream come true. She fulfilled one of her biggest dreams by buying Miwok in December 2022. To drag the kids out of the digital world and gallop towards the horse-riding lessons is something very wise to do. She has initiated a different type of education that teaches young people everything about horses. Situated far away in the North Bay East Tennessee Valley is the beautiful equestrian world where all the children are being taught valuable lessons.
This schooling is of course absolutely different. It is a one-week camp of refreshment where kids get to learn something completely new. This initiative has attracted a lot of kids and is teaching them so much more than one ever thought. Friedman has spoken about how she feels about the place and about the learnings she is providing here.

In Miwok, there are 14 children who have chosen it to be their paradise. This entire concept is a one-week fun-filled summer camp where all the curious young children will be learning the art of ropes. Starting from saddling up to riding the beautiful horses. Alison Friedman has with a lot of thought taken this generous step of unusual education. Alison on fulfilling her dream, expresses, “Tennessee Valley is gorgeous no matter what weather… if it’s fog rolling in or clear skies.” She has poured all the love she has for Miwok into her summer camp and has encouraged the kids to love the horses purely.
According to FOX KTVU, one of the campers named Cooper who is seven years old, expressed, “They are just magical creatures. I just love them.” Another young talent Paloma stated, “They are very interesting to learn about, and they have cool like bodies.” The amount of effort Friedman has put into this school is undoubtedly visible. She has chosen all the right reasons, to begin with this in the very first place.

Alison Friedman speaks about her approach to schooling
Friedman is very clear with her motive for this one-week camp. She has explained this might be a riding camp, but it is so much more than that. It allows all the children to take a rest from the materialistic world and embrace the outdoors, and the beautiful creatures. It allows them to learn the art of bonding with nature and horses. Friedman expressed, “Part of ‘why’ horses are so wonderful for everyone is they help teach us about patience and empathy and the golden rule.” She has kept everything in mind about the camp, starting from the cost to the lessons and amusement of the children.

The camp costs about $1,000 and it can be a little expensive for some people. Miwok’s former owner Linda Rubio took the initiative to provide scholarships for the same. Marin Horse Counsel awarding scholarships was her partner in this step. Rubio said these little 9-year-olds should be free for learning how to ride and understand how to make a large animal listen to them quietly. This camp is a game changer for the equestrian lovers and the learnings here are so much more than one can ever think of.
