Equestrian Jennifer Gates has grown up cradled in the arms of privilege. Daughter of the most celebrated business tycoon and celebrated Bill Gates, Jenn is known for keeping herself first. Recently graduated from Columbia University with an MD in public health, the 27-year-old also juggles mommy duties now. But she is the epitome of balance and aces all easily. Moreover, she’s also someone who chooses her goals carefully.
Having taken inspiration from her childhood pediatrician, Jenn Gates thought of pursuing a career in medicine. So, to “make the world a little bit of a better place” she signed herself with Stanford University to kick start. After years of dreaming about making a difference, she may have finally achieved it specially.

It’s January again, and all the survivors and health experts have joined hands in the cervical cancer awareness month. Ringside MDs, a Wellington International-based clinic linking top-tier health specialists with the ailing mob, welcomed to speak on the less addressed issue of cervical cancer. Ann Sherborne, a fellow horseman of Jenn, had identified cervical cancer in the early stages. But not everybody in the equestrian community knows to keep their health first, like the three women present in the interview setting. But Sherbourne has been a ‘compliant patient’ and has inspired all to go through Pap screening at least annually. “I was very diligent about my women’s health”, she said.

“Just go to the doctor” should be the motto of all women, which most fail to adhere to. Even fans or other enthusiasts of the equestrian community have chimed in with assertive notes.

Fans extend support and address the issue in public

Another Insta user named medschoolmum has hit the right spot by spilling the truth most women need to hear. She said, “Its a very familiar theme that women generally place their other obligations before their own health”.

Moving on, another equestrian, also a fellow survivor, showed support and unveiled her upcoming plans, saying, “Survived this in 1995, and am here to ride and show in 2024!” Another person supported the others by admitting that the information was useful undoubtedly. Said, “Great interview with such an important message”. With more “Such an important topic ‘n” and heart emojis, the fans stood by the good cause of raising awareness. Jenn Gates smiled within for she has made a mark in the medical world as well.
