When it comes to maintaining its integrity and welfare, the equestrian community has never been lenient. Recently, after a new false information fraud came to light, the equestrian community took another vital and harsh step, as the California steward banned and suspended Jason Hall after providing false information about his horses.
Jason Hall, an Idahoan breeder and a bloodstock agent who profited over $200,0000 was accused of giving false information regarding his three horses’ foaling locations. After being found guilty, Hall was suspended for 30 days and will be paying a hefty fine as well.

Recently, Jason Hall, a breadstock agent, was fined and suspended by the California steward. The agent has to pay a hefty $10,000 fine and will not be able to participate in any event for a month due to a 30-day suspension. Hall’s suspension began on July 15 and will last till August 15.
This punishment was given to Hall after he was found guilty of giving the false locations of his three horses to the Jockey Club. According to Paulick Report, a report on the California Horse Racing website addressed this fraud and stated, “Mr. Hall was very Forthcoming with his account of what happened approximately five years ago, and he answered all the follow-up questions that the steward had for him.” Further, while discussing the board’s final decision on this action, the report stated, “After all the evidence was presented, the hearing was closed.”
Really Big news, Winning Big and Karl Bag are three horses that Hall bred and registered as California breds. And after the board’s decision, the three horses that he co-bred are now listed as Kentucky-breds. Among Hall’s horses, only one horse, Really Big News, son of Mr. Big Born sold in 2019, has officially raced yet.

Stats of Hall’s horses
Purchased in 2019 by owner Sausalito Partners and trainer Goerge Papaprodromou for $45,000, Really Big News is the only horse bred by Hall who has officially raced yet. With total earnings of $109,640 and 14 starts the horse has shown a stable performance till now. In 2023, Really Big News has brought in $9,680 and four starts.

While two-year-old colt Winning Big was sold for $5000 last year at Fasig-Tipton’s California Fall Yearning and Horses of all ages sale. Karl Bag, the 3-year-old by Mark Valeski, was also sold in the 2022 summer Ocala Breeders sale for $70,000. After deceiving many people in the equestrian community, Jason Hall has currently a net worth of a total of $71,530.
