The Equestrian community has always tried its best to keep its community running up to date and with all the comforts available. Once again, they have stepped forward to make positive changes towards horse welfare. The global racing fraternity is looking over all the requirements that need to be executed to make the community a better one.
Several authorities have assembled to ponder upon the positive amendments and to bring the necessary optimism. They are looking for positive engagement that is better for the horses and the equestrians as well.
The commitment made by the authorities to the equestrian community

An assembly of multiple equestrian authorities gathered to discuss the positive changes that need to be brought into the horse racing community for the welfare of the equine athletes. Professors, chairmen, founders, and multiple others had met to keep their points for executing the best. Professor Natalie Waran in her 57th International Conference of Horseracing Authorities, stated the primary ideas that can be executed for equine sports amidst the changing societal expectations.
According to the Horse Talk, one of the plans involved in this is providing education for anyone working together with equine athletes to better their needs. She stated that the changing social values with respect to animals, are having an impact on various industries in various ways. Waran also added that it is integral to make sure that society is not differentiating among different equestrian sports.
She further added, “The racing world must positively engage with both perception and reality and show real commitment to change to ensure positive welfare.”

At the conference at Saint-Cloud Racecourse in Paris, France emphasized safeguarding equine welfare. In this meeting, delegates from more than 40 countries were present. The International Federation of Horseracing Authorities’ chairman Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges stated that he is very positive about the multiple ideas that he has heard about at the conference. All of the ideas focus on everything, birth, training, racing, retirement, and aftercare.
He declared that there is the possibility to execute welfare steps for the horses in all stages of their lives. Charles Scheeler, the CM of the HISA gave an overview of the execution of the Anti-Doping and Medication Control program and future growth. They are working towards the creation of an ecosystem of care surrounding horses.

Several other members were included in making the decisions for the horse welfare. One of them was Brian Stewart who is the head of Veterinary Clinical Services. He expressed that serious injuries and deaths in the racing realm are very low when looked upon statistically. He wishes to reduce them even further.
