Hector Aldrete’s paddock yielded the discovery of an undisclosed electrical device before he mounted his horse’s back. The organizers had scheduled the equestrian jockey to take part in the tenth race of Ruidoso Downs on August 6th, 2023. Aldrete was effectively removed from the race, and a replacement was brought for him, who finished eighth in the race. He has been suspended for now and awaits a trial which will be held on 13th August 2023.

Local law enforcement arrested the equestrian jockey for committing a Class 4 felony. He violated a statute that prohibits the usage of any electrical or mechanical device that enhances the speed of a horse. The commission will take decisive action against Aldrete, which may also include revoking his license for up to five years. However, Aldrete is not new to such charges. Apparently, this was not the first time Aldrete had run into trouble due to his illegal conduct.
