Pretty Mischievous, the winner of three races this year will race on August 5 in the Test (G1). Why would she take the seven-furlong Test? Firstly, it is a Grade 1 event that is one of the most competitive levels of horse racing. Second, the event is hosted by the Saratoga Race Course, which is one of the most prominent racetracks in America. Finally, the race is a seven-furlong sprint, a distance that 3-year-old fillies do not frequently run.

Winning this race, a major event for 3-year-old fillies, can greatly enhance a filly’s value as a broodmare. She made her professional racing debut at Maiden Special Weight, finishing first after 61⁄2 furlongs at Churchill Downs. She continued in Grade II for three months in a row, ending in the top three. By the end of 2022, her winning distance was 1 mile and 70 yards, securing the top position.

The Godolphin’s homebred already has two G1 victories in her name this year. Brendan Walsh, her trainer, even celebrated Into Mischief’s daughter’s first Grade 1 victory as she entered her third season. According to her stats, the third division has benefited from her natural pace and shorter race duration. BloodHorse quoted her trainer saying, “We like (the Test) for her,” he further added that for “shortening her(speed) up and this seems like a good opportunity.” Do you know among her seven opponents, she stood out as the only Grade 1 winner with a field-best payday of $1,206,560 in her last run?

Equestrian Pride’s $ collection so far

Pretty Mischievous won the $1.25 million Kentucky Oaks (G1) at Churchill Downs at 10-1 odds to kick off the third-division season. She seized the lead at the beginning of the final stretch and eventually finished the 1 1/8 miles in 1:49.77 despite starting from the far outside post position in a 14-horse field. Filled with joy, her trainer said, “This is the kind of thing you dream about, to win a Grade I, especially the Oaks at Churchill Downs, it’s a long way from Cork in Ireland.”  This was not all, she continues to make her jockey and trainer proud of her next G1 win.
