The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association is one of the most prestigious associations in the equestrian industry. They work for the betterment and upliftment of the thoroughbred racing. They represent thoroughbred owners and breeders at various other organizations; setting the grade of the thoroughbred race every year. They also promote thoroughbred racing to the masses.

To motivate and acknowledge the efforts of owners and breeders, the organization hands out awards every year. The awards are of various categories pertaining to the thoroughbred industry. Recently, the 2022 award winners were facilitated, with Godolphin capturing the highlights of it.

Godolphin receives the prestigious equestrian award

The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association declared the winners of the 38th edition of the National Awards at Lexington, Kentucky. Godolphin was declared the winner of the 2022 national award for the owner of the year and breeder of the year. The winner will be facilitated at the lunch held in honor of the winner over the course of two days at WinStar Farm. On Friday, the winner of the national award for owner and breeder of the year shall be endowed. This is another success for the $120,204,810 Worth Godolphin who claimed earlier the Eclipse Award honoree in the category for two consecutive years, 2021 and 2022.

Apart from that, they have also been named Kentucky’s breeder of the year award. The finalists for the National Owner of the Year Award were Peter Brant, Hronis Racing, Klaravich Stables, and Winchell Thoroughbreds. And the finalists were Dreaming of Julia Thoroughbred Holdings and Summer Wind Equine. Apart from these awards, the National Broodmare of the Year was given to Dreaming of Julia bred by Stonestreet Farm. The National Small Breeder of the Year was presented to Elizabeth Merryman. There were numerous awards given for the other categories and state levels. The national award is the mirror of the effort and contribution Godolphin has made in the thoroughbred industry.

Godolphin was founded by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. His love and passion for the horses and the goodwill of the Arabian horse led to the establishment of a thoroughbred equestrian facility. What was a modest start has grown into a known name in the equestrian world with major Arabian horses running in the west having the Godolphin name attached to it.

They have training facilities spread across the world from the US, UK, France, and Ireland to Japan, and Australia. They have three trainers, namely Saeed Bin Suroor, Charlie Appleby, and James Cummings who have bred many famous horses like Cody’s Wish, Fantastic Light, Dubai Millennium, and others. Their owned horses took part in 4418 races of which they won 889 to date. This year they added $10,693,201 to their earning to date from 300 races.

The award given to Godolphin is in recognition of their contribution to thoroughbred racing and breeding. They have grown from their start and have spread their operation globally to the best in the industry.
