The equestrian industry has earned a bad reputation recently because of the incremental rise in the number of horse fatalities. Horses form a vital cog in the financial structure of the equestrian world, but they are often neglected. Those horses that perform well in the races and bring value back to the owners are treated with care. But this is not a lifetime deal, and it ends after the steed is past its prime. Is there no hope for a change?

Combating this lax attitude of horse owners are equine rescue organizations like ‘All Seated In A Barn’. This facility rescues precious creatures from a life worse than death and gives them a new lease of life. Recently, the organization attained a new milestone in its one-year plan that entails 300 horse rescue goals.

The equestrian facility saves 47 horses in five days

Tahlia Fischer is at the helm of All Seated In A Barn, where she imparts equine education and gives horse victims a home. Recently, she used her organization’s Instagram account to reveal a significant achievement for the facility. She created a montage of the horses she saved in the last week and uploaded it on Instagram with the overlaying caption, “47 lives saved in 5 days”.

Her intention was not to brag but to be altogether pure and noble. In the accompanying post, Fischer wrote, “I want people to hear ‘horse rescue’ and think WOW these people are bad ass – THATS where we need to volunteer and get our next horse from?I want the passion to spread so the horses have a genuine out and a community that supports them regardless of where they came from or what they’ve been through?.It takes all of us”.

Tahlia Fischer has boldly come up with a plan for the execution of her mission. This is just Phase 1, and she is not halfway done. By Phase 3, she will have saved 300 of these miserable creatures and placed them with compassionate owners. However, this is a huge undertaking, and money is required for feeding, veterinary care, and rehabilitation. She has asked for a $2500 donation from her followers on Instagram. The equestrian fans have responded with overwhelming support, and those who could not provide monetary help did so in better engagement for her post.

Equestrian community rallies for horse rescue mission

The equestrian community has always been passionate about animal care. Therefore, when Tahlia Fischer asked for help, she could not have received a better reception elsewhere. One commenter hinted at moving towards her own advocacy, remarking, “Thank you for all you do! I never knew the depths of this horrific industry until I found your account. I have a huge burning spark to do something to help. You have created a trickle effect for so many who now advocate and support and share. We can change this together!”.

One fan remarked on the success of her cause, enumerating, “God moves mountains..all this is growing, ears are opening, eyes are becoming less blurry, hands working harder, lips voicing louder for the voiceless.. positivism over shadows the opposite.. we all can so this and it will happen.. more lives saved, keep that passion on fire”. Lastly, another fan from a distant country applauded her mission and wished they could help, writing, “It’s really sad it can’t help, I’m from another country and I really wanted to do more for them. I keep thinking about others, who will suffer”.

Tahlia Fischer’s rescue has saved these 47 horses and donkeys from the slaughterhouse. However, this isn’t even a fraction of the total number of equines who require assistance. She is resolute to help as many of these creatures as she can in one lifetime. Every little bit helps, and she hopes that the equestrian community will continue to support her cause.
